Me four.   Cry  And that picture is so very sad, yet somehow comforting.  I'm glad someone was there to give him a warm, soft blanket on which to spend his final moments.

I see someone right in the middle, just below the platform.  Looks like an adult.

Well, not too terribly old...1979.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the emblem is on the side of Crossroads? I don't think there's anything on there now.
Hmmm...1979 was only three years before I started working in downtown Rochester, but this has me stumped.  All I remember is that there was a branch bank in the Crossroads building that first was Security Trust, then changed to Norstar and then to Fleet Bank.  I was somehow trying to make that into a Security Trust logo, but can't do it.

Great news for them this year!  Strange so many places I follow or read about that their fledglings hang around the nest site way after fledging yet ours never seem to. Usually, once they leave, that's it in ever seeing them there again.
Except for last year here in Rochester.  That 2014 quartet was tight.  They all came back to the nestbox every night to sleep for several nights after fledging.  I think part of that was because the length of time between the first Mercury's fledge and Tesh's accidental fledge was considerable, and the fact that Nor'easter was injured coming back to the nestbox and Nettie stayed with him there for a few days.  Sadly, the only one who came back to the nestbox this year, even for a brief visit, was our dear Bronx.

Our last falcon Orion fledged just before 6 am this morning.
However, we are all very saddened to learn that she apparently impacted the State Office building and was killed at around 9:30 this morning. Her body was recovered and is currently with the DEC. We are awaiting final comfirmation of her band number.
We are all very saddened by this loss but are trying to remain focused on the positive side and enjoy the two young fledglings who are doing very well.
Thank you to everyone for all their continued support of these amazing birds.
FLY HIGH ORION!!!

Fly Free Orion!    crying
Oh dear Lord, this has been a rough year!  Thanks for posting, Donna.   Sad
