Happy Birthday, Shaky!   

Excellent pictures, Bonnie, and the music was great too.  Perfect for the Erie Canal aqueduct, on top of which we had our Watchers Weekend breakfast buffet. 

Wow, I'm glad all's well that ends well.  Reminds me of "Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do, got a honey jar stuck on his nose."

Somehow I don't think Dorothy was "dropp[ing] by to say hey."  More like she was dropping by to say "HEY! GET OUT MY TERRITORY!"

Thanks for the videos, NCA and Ei. I was out watching for a good portion of the day and we miss some of the nestbox action. I didn't know Nor'E was being so active.  He is definitely healing.  I just hope he doesn't try to fly too soon.

The end of a good 5 minute flap practice session from the south corner to the bump and back to the perch. The wing is still wonky, but he was able to extend it more than before. And hold it out for longer than before. And he's holding it relatively even with the right wing. And all of this was in a gusty breeze.

Baby steps...

As you said, the wing's still wonky, but that is the best I've seen it since before the accident.  Thanks for posting, Ei. And thanks to all who have been monitoring Nor'e today on the cams and on the street. I am home cleaning house and preparing to entertain 10+ out of town guests next Friday before we leave next weekend for a big family reunion week in the Adirondacks. Thanks for keeping watch and doing what you can to keep our falcon family safe.  I will join the watch when I can.

I believe the picnic benches are there in front of the library again this year.  Can anyone else verify?  I will stop by on Saturday morning to say hello on my way out of town.
