It's a great photo, and this juvie reminds me of Baron's "take charge" attitude.   He or she is definitely on a mission.  happy

Buffalo juvie possibilities (the list I saw on the Forum didn't report left leg bands)

George - M - no tape silver
Bailey - F - yellow tape silver (maybe the tape fell off?)

I don't know, but it sure looks determined!  Whomever it is, it looks like it shares some of Baron's personality traits.   Wink  Where was it spotted?

Thanks all!  Keep those stories coming!  I love hearing Rochester falcon history and am glad that feeling of euphoria is common.  Smiley

That thought crossed my mind too.  It's just about a straight line down to Pittsburgh from Long Point.
2453  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: First Sightings on: 29-Nov-13, 02:57:10 PM
Yes, absolutely AND in good health.  And that's interesting that Ranger showed up at the birthplace of her father.  Rosetta has the right country but wrong direction to do that.  Long Point is considerably south of Etobicoke, and it's even slightly south (and west) of Rochester.

And Rhea Mae, what a lovely bird and a great mother she turned out to be.  Sometimes knowledge of their whereabouts can be bittersweet, I'm sure.

As many of you know, I live and work in Rochester but I am still a newbie to falcon watching and falcon cam watching, starting in 2011 when there were no hatches at this site.  The positive identification of Rosetta at Long Point with photographs is the first "official" ID of a Rochester eyas that I've had the pleasure to experience.  Although I was very excited to hear that Baron was sighted at Montezuma, I somehow didn't feel that was official without seeing band photographs.

Although I first heard this news last night, I still feel like dancing a jig. So to the others on this board I ask, who is the first Rochester-born falcon that you followed while being raised and then heard of a positive ID at another location?  And did you walk around with a lilt in your step and a smile on your face for a long time too after you heard the news?

Rosetta has YELLOW feet.........

You're right nyc-I knew something looked different when I was checking out her white tape over the blue that was still intact!   clap

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! yahoo yahoo yahoo yahoo

My brother & his family thought I was nuts when I yelped for joy at his house!

And...I'd still call them VERY pale yellow Wink
On the first pic I looked at I couldn't clearly see the numbers but I saw the B, the black over green band and that white tape over the blue band on blue-ish/yellow-ish feet and I feel the joy wash over my face!  She looks wonderful, and she'll soon have BYF.   clap

I wait for the bus near the crows' roost.  It's like they are having various committee meetings in the tops of all the trees there, and some liasons are traveling between the trees delivering messages to the other committees.   Smiley

I hope it doesn't scare the falcons away too.  It didn't seem to bother Beauty last year, but I think Dot.ca had already migrated when they did it last year.  Maybe he spends his nights in Brighton anyway.

I will remember this day fondly when the temperatures hit 90+ degrees next summer and the falcons have to pancake to keep cool.  I hate the hot weather!
