Whirly everything!

I already compared it to last year before I posted. Take a look at your post from March 17, 2018 and compare it with mine today. To me, the patch looks significantly darker now. It could be the plucked feathers, or perhaps the angle of the sun. Sometimes slightly brighter sun, as this is, brings out more contrast.

So what do we think of those dark chest feathers Cadence has been wearing recently? It looks like she's had them since March 19.  Are they of any concern, or are they just dinner she hasn't preened off yet?

Aria has spent most of this morning at the nest tray.

Wonderful news for Beauty and Dot.ca! Egg #1 has landed. I was a bit concerned for Beauty. I checked the stills, as she stayed in that crouched position all night long. She appears to be okay this morning, though. Just tired. As I recall, it always seems as if the first egg is the hardest.

It looked like she had a tough time getting this one out.  I could see the egg at 12:02 but she kept pushing really hard, head down and tail up, for a good 5 minutes after the egg first appeared..I was kind of worried it wouldn’t all come out.

Poor mom! I hope the next ones are easier.
