I think Linda meant that the actual news of finding the deceased bird should not have been posted on Facebook, not June's message of yesterday.  Perhaps it caused a person who doesn't follow this board and doesn't know the procedure in these types of situations to call Crossroads management.

It looks like there's enough room between the wall and the elevator that she could get out if she was actually inside the shaft when the elevator moved.   

Yep, a couple of times I did a quick sweep of the binoculars on Beauty's favorite spots that I can see.  No luck today.  I usually check the Twitter feed every work day morning, and if you haven't already spotted her, that's when I look. 

Thanks, MAK! I'm glad to know Beauty's not trapped in the elevator shaft.  I was concerned when neither you nor I saw her all morning.

No red deer for me either, Bobbie.  I guess I'll just have to come back! 

Oh, how very sad.    I have visited the Killarney National Park.  It's a beautiful old growth forest, and I'm glad it is being preserved.

Wow!  Her biological clock is still ticking!   

Where I live, in New York State on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, the Department of Environmental Conservation has been shooting domestic ducks for several years in order to lessen the impact of particular diseases in the wild duck population.  I know that the ultimate goal is a good thing, but it breaks my heart every time I hear a gunshot.  And I agree, this type of action seems counterproductive and shouldn't be part of any long-term solution to endangered species issues.

I'm happy to report that Beauty is on the Widow's Walk.
