5.47 pm - Cady out, dad in.  One baby up for food and other fell on his back!  Dad still yacking and no wonder, Cady is back...I suspect she's wondering where is the FOOD!!  Newborn still on his back and turning sideways now I think.

Good for her!  Wasn't 2015 the year here when one or two of the babies was always flopping over?  Maybe she learned something from Beauty during that experience. 

 

 

2.35 pm and feeding by Cady.  Small piece this time and she's doing really good!  Nice and close to baby...baby is wobbly of course but she's getting a piece or two in his beak.!!

I cropped the food piece out of the photo for those who are sensitive to seeing that stuff close up.

First feeding for both baby and mom!  How sweet! Has Dad been there yet?

That means Seabreeze, Ontario, Charlotte and Rachel are uncles and aunts!  As are all of Beauty and Dot.ca's other living offspring.   

I feel like a grandma...sooooo PROUD!

YAY!!!  Do we know if it was one of her eggs?  If it was the one we saw pipped, I think it was.  Now she's covering the chick and the rest of the eggs, as a good mom should.

I wish the cams there had sound so we could hear if there are any little cheeps coming from the eggs.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a hint of peach on Cadence's chest feathers?

Yep, just like her mom.

Yes, she's got a hint of peach color in the feathers lower down on her chest, like her mom, and the top of her chest is snow white, like her dad.  A perfect combination.   

Bummer!  Can't make that weekend!!!!!  We were hoping for July again.  This will be this 1st time we've missed since the 1st one!!!   Lynne & Bob

I'm so sorry Lynne and Bob. The Jehovah Witnesses​ will be in Rochester the following two weekends. It was so much easier to plan when we were on the pedestrian bridge. 

I understand why!  We look forward to the trip each year-and yes much better when they were in the gorge!!! 

I feel really bad. I'll miss seeing you guys this year.

No one else has responded, so maybe it's not a good time for anyone?

I have to check a few things at work once our annual inspection is over. I should know better by Friday.

I feel badly that we won't see Lynne and Bob.  The new date actually works better for me than the weekend of 7/8-7/9 would (I would not be available on the afternoon of 7/8), but I'm a local, so my presence isn't as important as that of the out-of-towners.  Bummer is right!
