Whew! I'm relieved that apparently there will be no fourth egg for Cadence. Apparently...

Geez, she's in a perfect position for us to see it if she lays another egg.  Unfortunately, I have to leave work now, so I'll probably miss it if it happens. 

Cam 1 gets some great close up pics, too.

Well, a dead main cam doesn't make a bit of difference to Beauty, Dot.ca or any of the little ones contemplating breaking those eggshells, and they're the most important part of this equation.  All shall be well. 

Beauty checking in with Dot to see if he's OK for another hour on the eggs! That's never a problem for DC!

It'll be interesting if she lets him have more time with the kids as well as more time on the eggs.  I doubt it. 

 

Poor little one and poor parents!  I'm glad all appears to be well again. 

3:47 PM Cadence out, Dad in.

Cadence was incubating calmly, then her head bobbed way up and way down a few times.  Finally she left the igloo, but Dad did not come to take over.  The outside camera is zoomed in so that its view is almost identical with the inside nest cam.  Cadence just came back and settled down on the eggs again.  Something just had her attention momentarily, I guess. 

Lots of moving around today...we're in the home stretch  

I wonder if Beauty has been talking to the eggs yet.  I'll have to start listening for them soon.

Kate's blog said two had hatched.  She had eaten the first one and was brooding the second.  So if this was a third hatching, what happened to the second one that she was brooding? Did she kill that one as well? Poor Terzo, he must be so confused.
