It looks like Bula and Dot.ca are birds of a feather, pardon the expression. He recently had a 1/2 hour standoff with Diamond trying to force him off the eggs to no avail.
From Cilla Kinross: And yesterday afternoon the pair sat quietly together, with Bula on eggs, for nearly half an hour, before Diamond gave up trying to dislodge our very maternal male! Anyway, it’s a good opportunity to see them close together, so you can clearly see the difference in the yellow tones and size.

Hmmm...I'm not sure. If I had to guess I'd say it was perhaps some type of reflective tape that would show up during a flash photo but not in a light "painted" photo. It's obviously something that the people on that side were either wearing or holding. They are all either Kodak employees or retirees, and they were holding photographs of either themselves or a family member who worked at Kodak. Maybe the photo paper is somehow reflective?

Found a photo by MAK that shows Genesee with non-yellow feet, at least in that particular light. I knew I had one somewhere. This was taken on the day he fledged. As I recall, they weren't as blue as some of the others. More of a greenish-blue.

 Coast Guard tower Thanks, Shaky. CGT is just an acronym I made up for tweets. Genesee likes to perch on the tower/antenna on the right in the photo Shaky posted. It's used to pick up radio signals from the boats and ships on Lake Ontario. |
