In light of events today I spoke to Linda and asked permission to share some news that isn't public yet. CPF is monitoring a new female that has been seen with Stormin at King St. - she appears to be unbanded.
Neither of us has seen Tiago on the nest ledge since late November as we realized when comparing notes. Rhea Mae has been seen several times over the past few weeks and her behavior has seemed anxious at times but no sign of Tiago...he could be around and on alert so please don't take this as a he's MIA - we just don't know at this point.
My personal thoughts are this is RM - I've gone through the banded/unbanded confusion with her before due to a trick of light - but I could be wrong, certainly wouldn't be the first time. That being said, if she's alone and there's a female around looking for a home that would explain her suddenly eating on the ledge and being nervous looking. It is also possible the new female is venturing into this territory so we'd appreciate any extra eyes on the cam when you are able.
Thank you Alison for sharing these photos and I hope you will continue to post any observations.

Lucie went to Burlington today and saw the nest site there where DC's brother Mac is. After we got chatting we realized that in addition to Mac being Cadence and Aria's uncle, his new mate Jo is their cousin via Beauty's side. She is Nick and Hathor's daughter. Too funny!

This one is for you Alison as I read your history on her parents over on another forum so I think you will appreciate the heads up on this one. Long story short, a story about an almost 18 year old peregrine being found and injured came up on my feed this morning. She is 'Buffy - daughter of Calypso and George (grand daughter of the legendary Zenith and Buckeye). She has been up until now the resident female at St. Mary's Cement in Bowmanville. Pete Read - who was involved with the London, Ontario nest site where she was born had a great story to tell of the nest that year and the sad losses - it's in the comments and I've posted the link here for you to have a look as there are photos of her there as well. Here is the original post that alerted me to Buffy: Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/Shades-of-Hope-Wildlife-Refuge-477706698958714/?hc_ref=ARRa-zfxLcO6rJggsAjLt4xXbkR7454YYFP3XLu8k1ZeJzrW2XoaeRlofNbK-S0_r7IA TALE OF SURVIVAL Peregrine Falcons are fierce raptors found on all continents in the world ... except Antarctica! But, in the 1950's and 60's the species was on the verge of extinction in North America as DDT poisoned the food chain. Worldwide concern led to recovery efforts that resulted in a return of healthy populations. Still on the list of Species at Risk, these magnificent birds are monitored throughout America.
Found in a parking lot in Clarington, caring rescuers phoned for help! This bird was rushed to SOH where she is currently in care. With a band on her leg, her history was revealed. Born in London, Ontario she is 17+ years old. Her wing has been pinned, but prognosis is guarded.

WoodmenLife It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Charity, our female falcon nesting at the WoodmenLife Tower, has died after a collision. Charity arrived in 2015 and mated with Mintaka, our male falcon. The falcon cam last spotted a bird 11 days ago. It is believed that Mintaka is searching for a new mate. We will know for sure if Mintaka has chosen to keep the WoodmenLife Tower as his home if he returns with his new mate by late February or early March to make their new nest. See how this story unfolds at falcons.woodmenlife.org in the coming months.
