I'm saddened that Cadence and her mate lost both of their offspring. It's hard to not be emotional, but I am grateful I got see her become a mom. Cadence is a survivor, and will soar the skies of NJ with pride. I will think of Cadence and remember her as a juvie when I fledge watch our 3 eyases this year.
This pic of Cadence and her eyas resting against her was taken yesterday.

Poor Cadence seems quite upset, she's going back and forth outside. Hopefully she calms down soon and can move forward.
I wonder if they keep the cam on all year round? or just during nesting? I have gotten used to seeing her beautiful face and would miss her if they turned it off plus I'd like to keep track of her so we know she is safe.

Good lord, Dad is dragging the baby again. Oh my god he's removing him!!!!
Oh my Lord! What just happened!? That baby was still alive! the male took him off, my cam froze. No sign of baby, he's likely dropped him to his death to end his suffering. Cadence is on eggs, poor girl... Part of me is angry but maybe he's done what the humans wouldn't which is end the poor baby's suffering. I don't think the baby would have lived at this point - they waited too long. They need to remove these eggs.

The baby fought back and dad stopped. His head is bent and he's still struggling, it's like he's drowning. Dad just standing there not moving . God that freaked me out, came back to desk and saw that happening.

Betty Ann Kelly ยท Stockton University
We have been conferring with the wildlife biologist. She feels the eyas may have a neurological problem. The biologist is on her way but coming from a distance. When she arrives, the chick will be removed for testing and if it is possible, rehabilitation.

7.45 am and Cadence just left and she came right back 2 minutes later. The baby can't lift it's head at all, it's talons are moving as if it's trying but it can't. She's going to brood the baby now, can see her vocalizing
