I think the shell is on first mom's 2nd egg, and this one is #2 for Cadence.  And I just saw a little beak poke through that pip!! 

Excellent, thank you Deb!  i'm at work so peeking when I can and just happened to luck out and catch her off eggs to get that shot!  So glad you saw a beak poke out..that's awesome!!

Question is now, is the shell gone or is this another egg I've just seen.  The hole is at the far end though....

Dad dragged the leftover prey over to himself by the eggs..he's snacking on it while he broods...

He can't be the same male as last year, he's acting like a newbie.  He's also not bringing prepared food to her as you would expect, that's why she's having to haul half a bird in to feed the poor kid. 

My concern is that eggshell on the egg.  I didn't see the second pipped egg myself but saw photos and people think the broken shell covered that egg - if so the chick won't survive as it's air hole has been covered and no way a tiny baby can chip through 2 shells. 

However - just now as I brought up the cam she was shuffling eggs and I may have seen a hole in one of the eggs..can't be certain as it was too fast..praying it is though!

5.35 am and Cady is in with food.  Dad was babysitting when I tuned in and now mom is in feeding the baby.

5.47 am and the food is on top of baby - he's pinned under it while Cady tries to feed him.  I wish dad would prepare food for her so she wouldn't have to bring in these huge birds.  Good lord get that food off the baby Cady...

5.51 am and she moved the food off to the side, baby is a mess...looks like the time DC first tried to feed Orion     

7.14 pm and Cady went out to get the big dead thing and hauled it inside...and she's attempting to feed the baby.  Oopsie she dropped the little morsel cause the big bird prevents her from getting too close.  Dad should really be preparing that for her. 

That half shell looks like it's around one of her eggs, wish she'd get it off in case a viable baby is in there.

Barb Baldinger confirmed today that Screech (DotCa's older sister - born 2008 to Jack & Angel) is still the resident female at the AT&T Tower in Pontiac, Michigan.  She and her mate have 3 offspring this year.  The year she was born was the first year I met and helped Frank out with his fledge watch.

Uh oh Cady is outside with the gigantic carcass again    Ok she left it outside.  She might have been eating herself but dad was in and started calling for her and left so he must be on a mission.
