Long conversation going on here in the igloo that started with Cady yelling at the male...I could tell by how her mouth was moving..like she was kacking...haha...he left and she's still yacking at him..you tell him girl!
She's outside now on the porch...He was gone awhile and came back without food so I guess she wasn't impressed?!. He tried to go in and incubate his eggs but she was having none of it..lol...she is too cute.

Checking in on this pair and both cams are zoomed in on the igloo...grrrr. Dad was upset over something and ran out yelling but he's back quickly so likely TV's or something he didn't like. I wish they'd pull the cam back again.

From Peregrine Place FB Today!
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR BUFFALO AND ROCHESTER WATCHERS: DIAMANTE' and another Peregrine, Hillary, were safely released today near Herkimer, NY. I'm waiting for more info such as who is Hillary, but I hope the two are bonded and can find a good nest site open to them if they are a bonded pair. That's all I know right now so don't ask for more info. I will of course post it if I get it!
ps: I hope they find that empty nest box in Buffalo!

5.39 am and Cadence has been standing quietly outside the igloo for the past 15 minutes I've been up. Dad sleeps on inside. 5.48 am and a little vocalizing by Cadence and dad lifts his head a few seconds and back down again... 5.52 am and Cadence finally moves in and wakes up dad and he's up and out the door he goes. She's standing inside now. 5.56 am and she's outside and off she goes.

If he's getting food for her it's from his stash as he's never gone long enough to hunt..and that stash can't last forever.
She just scared him off the eggs again and she's scraping in the igloo and looking at the eggs.

I mean he is incubating - so he's past the 'mating stage' - even though he gives it the old college try, he's with the eggs more than with her. She's at the start of the breeding cycle and requires more attention. If they were in the same place now he'd be courting her, bringing her gifts, and forming a bond with her - he's not because he's distracted by his eggs. Somewhere out there a floater tiercel is going to hear her cries and see she's not really 'bonded' to dad as of yet and he'll see an opportunity.

12.11 pm and on lunch and peeking in. Cadence came in and 'encouraged' him off the eggs. It's 71 degrees there and he's on the eggs tight - that's not good. *sigh*
She is outside now..holding her balance well on the railing. She does have a few small scrapes on her feet, not doubt from mom's talons when they got into that lock but nothing looks serious and her grip on the railing was quite tight.
She just flew off. And sure enough, he snuck back in. Don't be surprised if you see a new male here shortly...or at least someone trying.
