Large falcon in air back and forth on cam 3, female on ledge defensive.  Whoever it is means business this time.  Mom is spinning around like a top.

Male is home now and on eggs apparently.  There have been reports of third bird in several territories over the past 24 hours - it's that time of year and there are many pefa's looking for a home.  We had a third here at Bloor Issy yesterday as well and I witnessed some interaction between another pefa and Lucky that resulted in a high speed chase out.  There is also a new female in Richmond, VA as of yesterday as well and Utica, NY had a third as well on cam that went right to nest box.  

We need to put a flashing sign on that empty box in Buffalo  

All quiet since I got home from work, female on eggs.

I've been checking now and then all day. Seems quiet. Not like yesterday.

I couldn't see from work but since I've been home, it has been quiet and 'normal'.  I hope our Cadence is safe and has decided to find herself a better home

Scratch my earlier comment, Chad confirmed to me he saw two females in the air early this morning.  He thinks she may have retreated as egg 3 is due.

First egg this morning for O'Connor and Lucky! 

Morning!  5.34 am and got cams working, male on eggs.  Very foggy and wet there, no sign of anyone else that I can see.

6.17 am and no change.  Male still on eggs and no sign of females.  Off to get ready for work.  Will rely on others today to follow events.  Hopefully rain will keep things calm.

Let's hope it's over for tonight. Her mate needs to bring her some food. Looks like it might be raining?

Yes and I just checked the weather and rain tonight and all day tomorrow!  Might cool them off!

Poor mom, her head is tucked into her wing already.  I hope Cadence is okay too, I know she's been the aggressor but surely with all that contact she may be hurting a bit too.  So talons crossed for a peaceful night for all involved!

Cadence may have left for the night.  Mom is comfortable enough to go into the nest box with her back to entrance tonight.  But I won't call it since they keep surprising me but let's hope for a peaceful night for all falcons involved.

I was off for a few hours and they are at it again??? Cadence is persistent!! Good grief, make it stop!

 

Took an hour break and missed some action it seems.  Mom on top of igloo looking pretty rough and dad inside on eggs.  Quiet for the moment.

I can't bear to tear myself away now so I understand how you feel.  I want to step away but I'm so afraid something horrible will happen  - as if I could somehow stop that by watching.  *sigh*  I am going to take a break soon though and eat, I'm sure it's not healthy to be parked in front of my monitor watching this for 2 days steady. It's harder now that I know it's Cadence...if you know what i mean.
