Yup, you got me there MAK. No idea what is going on as far as removing the egg. Cost issue maybe? I don't know how accessible the ledge is? If it requires a swing stage, I know the cost used to be approximately $1,500.00 to rent the stage which includes 2 licensed people to take them up there. Is it accessible without a swing stage? I would like to say no it's not but I am not sure of that, would have to ask someone from CPF.

I follow a few farm sanctuaries online and they say this happens all the time - they are shipped out at one day old so they are still ingesting their yolk sack but after 72 hours they need food and water or they die and many of them do. Shipment of live animals shouldn't be allowed - unless a person is there as an escort say in the case of transporting a pet which they claim these are but many end up being used in backyard butchers operations once they grow up.

There is but corporations are greedy for profit and people are spoiled and want to have a flight available when they want it. It's really not necessary at all in this day and age.
For Business now we have Skype and other video tools so flying is not really required anymore so often if at all. Planes are half empty most of the time save for a few transatlantic flights that are full and that's only on weekends. There is a reason airlines are always in financial trouble, they run near empty planes so the other guy doesn't get a jump on them - do we really need every airline on the planet flying into NYC? No we don't - that's what connecting flights are for.
With the advent of cheap flights, people have gotten more demanding but quite frankly their needs and wants shouldnt' outweigh those of the environment and the species that suffer as a result of our greed. There is always a better way but the almighty buck seems to rule everything. Our own stupidity is going to be the death of us.
Seems to counter productive to spend time an resources on birds when airports are slaughtering thousands of them at a time. This article makes me more ashamed to be human than ever.
