The 2016 nesting season has officially begun - Loza over at BCAW caught the first egg of the season to Alex & Vergine in Rome, Italy    Over to you Beauty 

In the wild, they say the male would show the female two or three different spots where they might nest and then the final say is with the female.  May depend on what is going on around them too, potential rivals/challengers, human interruption etc.  I guess we'll find out once she starts laying but at least they have a choice which is nice, kind of like nature intended it to be

One falcon about 1\2 way down on the nest ledge looking out.

Got a good shot of both earlier Carol.  Saw a splash of Red on RM's band and what looked like a 3 on the silver part of her band.  I checked it against a photo on this site of her bands it looks consistent to me.  I don't have a place to store photos online to post it here but it's on FB if you want to see it.  Also added series of yesterday's events for you.  Feel free to use any screen shot I post.

Dot.ca visited the Powers Nest Box this afternoon at 12:54 pm, plowing through the snow.
