What a little sweetheart, kudos to the couple for protecting him and keeping him safe from those hooligans.

SW's body has been found.  As per Harvey over at CMNH:

As has been surmised by her absence for the last two months, SW is dead. Her mummified body was found on an expanse of roof between the Leader Bldg and the side of the Arcade and brought to my attention by Dyann Davison from the Carlyle Development Group. I retrieved her remains and brought them to the Museum.Given the state of deterioration of the body it will be difficult to ascertain the cause of death. Laurie Graber and Jennifer Norris from ODOW have been notified and will file the band information.
Though we might suppose Newton and SW engaged in an epic duel ending with SW's hitting a building and coming to rest on the lone expanse of roof, it is also possible that there was a skirmish with the Bohn Building pair. The Leader Bldg. is very close to the 5th 3rd Building where I recovered Ranger some years back and could be the boundary between these two territories.

Rochester Falcon Watchers Kathy O, Lisa McK, Dana and Carol P visited with Pigott and her mate this past weekend, Saturday, 9/20/14.  We saw nothing until they both flew in from the north at 3:00 pm.  They were very active with each other, both visiting at the nest box twice and ee-chupping up a storm.  We remained until after the sun set, when Pigott tucked into a ledge below her nest box and her mate settled into a nook on a nearby church.  Pretty sure, by the look of all the white wash below these spots, that this is where they roost at night.  It was a fun day spent with our Pigott and her beau.  

    If those NY condo people could read this and understand that all the falcons want is a 'home', just like them.  Somewhere safe where they can raise a family - in many ways they aren't that different from us.  Perhaps they'd understand what life is like for our poor birds.

MAK said that maybe Veteran migrated! Was he not spotted here last Winter?? I hope migration is the key to his disappearance! 

I hope he is alive and safe too.

People's rights should not trump those of the species we share the planet with.  Plain and simple.  What are the consequences?  You're inconvenienced a few months of the year?  Go live in a third world country if you want to learn about 'inconvenience'.

I'm so sick of listening to the rich whine about their rights...take your money and go elsewhere is my response.  In fact take that shuttle to Mars - the planet would be better off without the likes of you!

The only males that would fit the bill, (yellow tape), Baron and Zephyr, tape looks pretty good still! Hmm.

If it is indeed a male! Baron would be sporting some juvie feathers still???

He'd have had his first molt by now and yes would still have some brown in there but I have seen a 1 year old that looked adult and was told some mature faster than others but you are likely correct.  I think I'm just wishful thinking but he was the first one I thought of.

Wow Alison!  I haven't seen the kids in over a month now, no sightings nor sounds of them.  I wonder if this is one of Jack's 'other' kids from TR site as they don't band there or he's a passer by.
