Maybe it's like S2 was - her hormones have to turn first.  Remember when S2 took over for Ma?  And ates all the kids food and stuff and then one day, it clicked and suddenly she started caring for the babies.  Froona used to say it's all to do with the hormones and which stage she's at.

She's just pulled out some egg shell to munch on, hatch!!!!

You are not going to believe it but they are brown chicken eggs!!

All but 1 right? The 2 looked way different from the 1 real falcon egg!

Yes egg 1 is a falcon egg.  They had to put in 2 other eggs to get them to incubate.  

Woohooo!  She's accepted the eggs and is on them right now!!  After a half hour, Six came in and he checked out the eggs, stood guard awhile and then left.  Hopefully they come back. 

They just finished putting two more eggs in for this pair.  Athena has arrived and is sitting outside on the perch looking in and then around.  Likely puzzled as to where those eggs came from as she doesn't remember laying them    Hopefully they will accept these new ones too.  Very exciting, talons crossed.

 

 

Can hear the babies peeping from inside the eggs tonight!  Almost hatch time! 

Sad for us panda fans but good for them!  Chengdu is a beautiful panda base from all the photos and videos I've seen of Mei Lan there.  They will have beautiful yards full of trees to play in and climb and they can nap outside in the cool air 

9:54 and she's back.  They need to split up the eggs - 2 for B and 2 for DC then they incubate in tandem
