We've heard baby peeping from egg all day and finally just now saw the first pip!!  Durand is finally going to have a baby!!!!!

I'm not sure what kind of gravel it is - but it was put in with the assistance of the MNR in 2011 so I'm sure it's safe for them.  They took out the old stuff and power washed the ledge.  The year before the kids showed symptoms of illness so it was decided to clean and replace the gravel on the ledge as it hadn't been done since 2002.

Kris was asking about Belle and nesting history so thought I'd post this over here too.  Did some digging and here's what I've found so far.  Started a new topic because they have a Falcon cam going live soon too!

Found their Facebook page but they only joined in 2012..last year and this year Belle laid / has laid 4 eggs.

They are also getting a 'Falcon Cam' shortly (which I believe someone else posted a few days ago but didn't realize it's was Belle's site)

If I were a betting woman, I would put money on the fact that we have a hatch.  After a couple of trips to the Lift Bridge today watching Mom’s behaviour, I would say that we have a hatch.  We went down the road by the washrooms and from there, through the scope, we could see that she is no longer down flat.  Her wings were spread as if mantling and she was very restless.  We saw what we thought were tiny little white balls of fluff popping out from under her wing.  We have not witnessed any food deliveries as yet, but may have just missed them.  Dad dropped by the nest box for a short visit and then flew to the face of the Hamilton Tower.

I don't get this cam from work but BCAW just posted a photo of Dorothy and there is egg shell laying in front of her.  Looks like Beauty has a new sibling this morning

Great news to wake up too!!  And don't you guys ever sleep!! 

1st hatch Harrisburg, just a minute or two ago.  Lil Dad on eggs and baby and he helped the baby out of the shell!!
