First Eggs in Southern Ontario Have Arrived!!!!!!!!! March 26, 2013 - Burlington - Lift Bridge Tracy Simpson Reports:
I stopped by the Burlington Lift Bridge today to follow up on the excellent observations of Bill and Sue of Cirrus laying down in the back of the nest box out of view. I met up with Todd who assisted me in getting a look at the monitor to confirm the news… …Cirrus has eggs!!!!! Upon arrival at the monitor, I could see that Cirrus was laying down and was sound asleep protecting the precious package beneath her. She stirred very little and only moved once to reposition herself. It was then that I was able to see at least one egg in the nest bowl but I am sure there are others by the way in which the egg was placed; it was leaning against another that was just out of my view. While we are unsure as to the total number of eggs, I can confirm that she is in full time incubation as of today and that the first egg, in talking with the bridge staff, was in the box by March 19th. Given that subsequent eggs follow within 48 hours of each other at the outset, March 23rd is the latest when the clutch would have reached completion for a full set of four eggs. A huge thank you to the bridge staff and watchers Bill and Sue for your vigilance, support and great observations and congratulations to Cirrus and McKenzie for being the first of 2013 in southern Ontario!!!!!!
Pictures to follow.

Thanks for bringing the photos over Kitty, I meant too but it was too early and not enough coffee in me at the time to try and remember how I did it last time I love that photo of Linn No problem! How to post a picture from another website or online album: Right click on the picture-copy image location Open a forum reply Click the insert image button above (tiny picture 2nd from the left bottom row) Paste the image location in the box (right click-paste or Ctrl-V) Click OK and that's all there is to it! I did that but for some reason I kept getting this mile long string and figured I just needed to step back and go make coffee as likely my fingers weren't doing what my mind was telling them to do. Thanks kitty

!!! Some great photos of the Scarborough Yellow Pages peregrines from a different view! March 19, 2013 - Scarborough - Yellow Pages CPF Postmaster Reports:
March 19th - 2013 A huge thank you to David Goodfellow who spent the time to find us, we may now have someone very close to the Scarborough Yellow pages nest site that has some elevation (and very close to the peregrines winter roosting spot)!
While the first lot of photos that he has sent into us are not the most recent - (taken 2010, 2011 and 2012), they do show some great close-up views of Linn and her mate, in addition to some other very interesting regular avian visitors. He admits that he rarely see’s the grins in the summer time (as they are typically incubating and raising their hatchlings over at the Yellow pages building nest site). This observation and behaviour is very consistent to many of our other resident urban peregrines in that most of them have different fall and winter roosts, hunting areas and other hang-outs. While they are still very much “on territory” and watching and protecting the nest area’s very closely, they don’t spent allot of time on the nest ledges in the fall and winter months.
After seeing the first lot of peregrine photos, we can wait to see what else David has been able to capture on film! Great shots David!!
Other more recent observation reports of the Yellow pages pair, reports both resident adults are very much on site with lots of courtship activities going on! Stay tuned……………

Durand and Spark also have their first egg, meant to post that when it happened on Tuesday. She was facing the back of the nest box so we got a different perspective on it..was quite fascinating. SGB has video of it over at BCAW.
