Me too...DC, son of Jack, a very capable male with great bloodlines that should be carried on! We need more than one little Dotca out there!
just because we don't know UT's bloodline doesn't mean they aren't great too. You just like DC best because he is a Canada boy I just don't like the way he treats Beauty. Frank actually rescued him the year he fledged and got stuck on a glass balcony - much to DC's mortification.

I know this probably isn't funny...but at first glance when I saw that shot of Beauty and her stance and face...my first thought was she was looking like 'oh crap he's back'. Busted for having a little dalliance while waiting for the Main Man? Carol WV Ps: Joyce, you are correct. 'Y' is used most often up here to denote males and 'X' is for females - the past few years anyway. I know in the last 2 years they've started using other letters because they were running out of number/letter combinations. I know at Jack's other site they used 'w' the one year for the boys.

Just trying to find something to smile about; hopefully tomorrow will see all Rochester falcons safe and sound. Thanks to MAK and Carol for going back out there! You guys rock!

Any kind of human interference/disturbance or other falcons coming through can have them perching in different places. I've certainly seen that at Etobicoke many times.
I don't know what kind of work is being done but if humans are around, our guys avoid the nest ledge because their view is limited to one direction from there. They tend to perch in a more open space where they get a better view of the territory from all directions and make a quick getaway if need be or if it's an intruder so they don't cornered.
Back in November, both O'connor and Jack spent over a week perched on a building we very rarely see them on and staring North - it was the strangest thing and they didn't go near the nest ledge during that time. Tracy thought they likely had a challenge for the territory and she certainly knows falcon behaviour from her many years of experience. And then one day, everything was back to normal as if nothing had happened.

It looks like Yankee. He has blk/blk band. We did not get out today but will check tomorrow. If anyone see any activity in or out of the box, I hope you can grab some screencaps or at least tell us what you witnessed. Without his mate, Yankee could just leave the vicinity. I'm hoping he can find a loose falcon flying through the area and will appreciate his nice heated condo!
Too bad we couldn't send Pigott over to him. She have a nice condo and she'd be close to her sister too Maybe MAK could have a chat with her tomorrow and put the idea in her head
