Thanks so much for documenting the feeding Donna  notworthy  I had an after work event and just got home so I missed it all.

Caught in down pour but it feels wonderful, temperature is dropping and wind is blowing out the humidity.  All the falcons should be feeling some relief up here right now!  handshake

He tried bringing food in yesterday and got yelled at - usually they keep food away from the box and prepare it elsewhere.  Hopefully she comes back with a little something this time.  Not time yet I guess, mama knows best.

Egg, don't see a pip yet but then again, yesterday I looked at the eggs and saw no pips either when suddenly----it just Hatched!!!

Must have been a trick of the light  Roll Eyes  I am hoping tomorrow or Saturday given the second egg was laid 3 days after first one.

Is on the bright egg a spot or a pip?

Looks like a pip to me?  Unless the light is playing tricks on us..awfully bright in there atm!  Could be the sun bleaching out the egg and making the spots look like a hole.

They can go for about 24 hours without being fed, they ingest the fluids from inside the sac before they break out so they are well hydrated.  I think DotCa did bring food earlier but then he left with it...likely Beauty told him not yet  lol

No feeding yet but that's okay.  The feeding will make his little body work to digest the food and that will make him warmer so they may be holding off til later.

You mean the baby?  He's lying by the back in the shade, very hot so he doesn't need brooding.

3554  Rochester Falcons / Rfalconcam Now / Re: We have a hatch! on: 20-Jun-12, 08:30:15 AM
Now I have a more serious question:  the heat and humidity today is going to be extremely high, and will stay like so through Friday.  Is this cause for concern for the eyas?  That Nestbox is going to get hot!

Yes it is a serious concern Margaret.  They will have to keep baby shaded and well hydrated during this time.  I've seen other hatches this late in the year and the parents did a fine job, these two have been outstanding so far so I have no doubt they will do what has to be done!
