That was an egg that got moved Donna, it was from her original 3 and I think some of the people got confused seeing it in a new location.  Hopefully next year Durand will finally get to be a mama. 

 

Donna, Madness is from ArcelorMittal Steel site - the resident pair there were Flash and Jersey.  At first they thought it was Flash (the male) that was missing when they got there and saw a falcon attacking the juveniles as they were attempting to fledge.  They found one little male dead on the rocks and another climbing up the rocks as he was trying to avoid being attacked.  The following day they went back and finally saw Flash and the new female (ID'd as Diana now) and determined it was Jersey that's been displaced or killed.  There were 2 young females still left on the ledge and yesterday they went back and found one missing and Madness on the ground so they made the bold decision to take Madness to safety.  Magic - the lone male fledgling is still there and seems to be holding his own but for how long?

I just read through that and have been following C&C's struggles with the site Madness was rescued from.  They have done a wonderful thing by giving this little girl a chance to survive.  And Green Girl - first time mom seems to have accepted her!  She is the daughter of the famous 'Mom' and Lil Dad from Harrisburg so ti's quite poignant that this is happening.

Wow her foot looks amazing now!  Same color as the rest of her talon.  I was thinking maybe that's why she was okay with DotCa spending so much time on the eggs, gives her a chance to perch on one leg somewhere and let the fresh air heal her foot!

We've got 3 in the air now as per Frank.  Regatta fledged this morning too and she's staying high and hanging with Euro.  Windward flew off somewhere and we can't locate her but she was up way high above the condos and Oconnor and Jack don't seemed concerned so likely she's safe up high.  She flew down far past the residential area so no way to go down there without wheels to look for her.

Poor little Olympia remains on the ledge, no flapping, nothing.  She's very quiet and is always hiding in the corner...hopefully she starts wingercizing soon.

I wouldnt worry too much about this behavior from O'Connor she is a smart bird and will learn about the hazzards. I think its likely what she was doing is the same as what she did at Osler, which was clearing all areas her chicks could land. There she literally took squirrels by the tail and flinged them off of a lowish rooftop. It will be an interesting watch thats for sure.

I'm guessing you're used to her behavior but let me tell you, my middle aged heart almost seized right up watching her.    

That photo is taken from downtown somewhere, right in the heart of the concrete jungle where King St and Sheraton are located - I recognize those buildings.  There are some pricey condos down in that area as it's right near the harbour front area.

I vote for a grey feather too. 

Sounds like Tracy needs to pay O'Connor a visit and talk some sense into her!

I checked on her before I left the office and she was gliding in front of the nest ledge showing off for the kids.  She just really scared the heck out of me, I hope she reigns it in because you know what traffic is like there MAK... 

Frank, I just sent you an email bit I see you're on the board.  Have to go into a meeting now but that Oconnor is bonkers    She just flew down the road, to a building only about 2 stories high to drive a freaken Seagull off a rooftop, she almost got hit by an SUV trying to drive it into traffic.  My heart skipped a beat I swear as I thought she was dead.  Then she turns, gains a few feet of height and starts terrorizing the pigeons on the hydro wires and now she is sitting on top of a bloody Hydro pole!!!

Good lord, I hope she's not going to teach the kids that!  Totally reckless.  Angel never, ever came down that low...the kids were on their own if they ever came down that low.  Cripes she's going to kill us if we have to rescue one of the kids.
