Good grief! I was afraid of this when Archer started two timing...your area is far too busy with falcons for him to be able to hold two territories for a long time. With all the migrants you get coming through..I fear for him. Really I do.

okay, i know this sounds weird, but it is said that human infants can recognize their own mother's voice from others right after they're born (been listening for months) maybe its the same principle B talks to her eggs so they'll recognize her voice after they hatch ok, ok, it's just an idea!!
Not weird at all, I truly believe that myself.

What is it with Canadian males servicing two females????
Joyce
Checked on his background on the site and Rueben is/was an American born tiercel. Maybe it's the Canadian beer The male at this nest site is named Rueben, and he is from the nest site at the Busch agricultural complex in Manitowoc, Manitowoc Country, Wisconsin. He was banded on May 9th, 2003, and has a black-over-green band on his left leg

I know he provided TR mom with food...she wasn't exactly receptive at first as she was still looking for Milton. At first she chased him off and was quite aggressive with him. It took a bit of time before she was comfortable letting him near her kids. We know he brought her food and defended the territory for her and she let him land on the ledge near the kids eventually but she was leary about letting him get too close to them unless she was there. She did most of the work with them and the fledge training etc.. but he definitely helped and he was quite respective of the space she kept between him and the kids.
Tiercels are pretty good about raising anothers offspring..likely as they are smaller and know the female could take them out they pretty much bow to the female. I expect they also realize that helping with the kids will win the female over.
