Update on Cadence from Betty Ann Kelly:
I called to check up on our injured, female falcon BA/91...remember her? Alyssa at the Raptor Trust tells me that the vet checked on BA/91 and found that a callus is forming where the wing was broken (the metacarpal) so they kept the wing unwrapped while she continues to heal in an outdoor cage that will limit her movement.
ps: She also added in response to someone who said the way she understands it is the callus is a good thing as it is new bone?
Betty Ann: Yes, the callus means the bone is healing.

Hmmm.....she's never been that orange.
We're still tweaking the camera. There hasn't been an opportunity to adjust the color for peregrine falcons until now. Just gray stones in a gray box on gray plywood attached to a gray building. That makes sense Shaky. She looks more natural colored right now as I'm watching so you are working your magic.

Eggs were uncovered most of day yesterday, I watched..and she got her own food. Last night I had the cam up for 2.5 hours until dark and no one came back. Falcons don't nest that far south..they get a lot of migrating birds though and likely that's what happens. A male over-winters with her and then head home in the Spring. Radisson from Winnipeg has been photographed wintering there with another male from a nest in the US somewhere. In the Spring she goes home to her mate and he goes home to his.
I'd be happy to be proven wrong but reading this history of the site..she's laid eggs here before and same outcome.

With egg laying coming up, there’s been no scrape made or visits to TS yet... There are floaters around as the watchers have photographed 2 males at least - this is the time of year for takeovers so I'm sure they are both aware of it. Another male just tried to displace Yankee at UB and I expect he'll be back as Yankee is vulnerable given his age. Lots of floater males this year, we had one a few days ago at our site - he got escorted out.
