Baby is fine, I saw it get fed a little while ago.  Probably just exhausted from pecking it's way out of the shell..that's hard work for a wee one

I don't know how old O'Connor is but Louie is 16 this year and 2018 could be his last year of reproduction so it's doubly sad for him. 

Dori was born in 2007 so she's 11 years old this year.

You got that right Kris.  Doesn't matter who is in power, if you have money they can be bought..the only thing that sets them apart is how high you have to go in price to buy them.

It's always one excuse or another for why they have to hurt wildlife and destroy the environment.  They minute you say yes to a situation like this you open the door to every other greedy developer to line up with their cheque book.  No one has integrity anymore - it's all about money.

11.52 am - Cam 2.  Starting around 11.50 is the only time I see him looking under and rearranging the eggs, otherwise he was dozing.

Just an FYI. When I received a text from MAK at 5 pm (thanks MAK!), I went downtown to look for the egg. I did not find it. Guess this will remain a mystery. Sad.

      Thanks for the info..I guess I didn’t realize that Dori & O’Connor were sisters.  I’m emailing too as they deserve the chance to raise & fledge their young. 

Yes they are.  She was originally named 'Mary Cleo' when she was banded but they renamed her when she arrived in Pittsburgh.

Maybe it collapsed and they removed it?  MEC had the same thing happen just as their only hatch was in the process of hatching.  Been a tough Spring for the birds.

MEC - We had our first hatch overnight here.  It was touch and go yesterday as one egg was removed from the nest and we weren't sure which egg it was - the one with that was partly hatching but not progressing or one of the other two.  Long story short, I was happy to log in this morning and see a white fluffy being fed breakfast.  He/she has had 2 already.  Not sure if the other egg will hatch but we'll see.

 

Saw that earlier - -now all I see is white squares.  I saw Aria on the Mondelez sign this morning - she perches there when she's hunting. 

 Terzo has saved a few of the babies by being there at the right time - it may not have been 'intentional' but it made the difference between life and death.  And last night again another saved by hatching overnight...which also seems to save them.  So if it's daylight and she's on her own - she kills them.  If Terzo is around or it's night they live.  Go figure.
