Sometimes a eyas is too weak to hatch and dies in the egg. Then eats the female this egg.

Not with this female Annette, they were not weak and unresponsive, they were quite feisty.  The male saved the remaining ones, he is learning to be there for the hatches and then she calms down.

7.17 pm and I think Stormin is here, just had 2 fly in but right after I took these 2 shots the sun hit the ledge and can't see them or if any food was exchanged.

New female on site since yesterday morning, young and unbanded.  They've been in and out bonding.  I last saw Ella sleeping on the perch.   Same female that was spotted a few days ago.

I've gone from annoyed to worried now. Stormin didn't come in last night nor has he come in this morning with food for her.  You could set your watch to him the past few weeks he was so timely.  He prefers the King site so I suspect he'll have no choice but to romance the other female if he wants to keep that site - let's hope she doesn't have a boyfriend.

End of day 3 and still no second egg for Chaos and Stormin.  Think that new female spotted at the King nest site might be a factor but without the cam there working we can't tell what's going on.

That’s too bad.  I was really hoping for Stormin to finally have a family this year.

Me too, I'm really annoyed about this.  I wonder if it's not Ivy since she knew about the site.  It has no nest box so it's not an obvious site like Sheraton is but I guess it would be naive to think others haven't been scoping it out over the years.   Any way I hope it sorts itself out and they get back on track.

Something caught her attention, now she's up and outside looking up in the air.  I feel bad for her, I wonder if they consider giving her a foster chick to raise if it turns out she is on her own.  And after some preening she flew off.

She's back now.  I have to keep this cam up and see if anyone else shows up.

But no one is there now again. She laid 4 eggs last year as well, all were infertile.  It's too bad, if she could find a juvie he might stick around.  They don't nest in that area of Texas, they only over winter there ...save for this rare female.

Four eggs confirmed, Allen came in and she wouldn't leave.  She stood in doorway a bit but is now back on eggs.  I got some photos of the eggs!

The happiest tiercel in the GTA this morning.  He just came in with food for her and ran over to greet his egg.  As far as we know this is his first egg since he lost the Canada Square site in 2014.
