I am sad. No exciting falcon reports of MAK anymore. Wishing you all the best! Maybe I'll find falcons in Arkansas and if I do, I'll write reports again Annette. Maybe the falcons will find you down there MAK

From CPF Facebook (by Linda):
Toronto Sheraton March 30
A quick visit to the Sheraton to check the ledge and ready for the upcoming nesting season. When I arrived the male was in view. I saw the female flying around the BMO tower and Scotia Tower. When the female arrived I was able to confirm that she is unbanded. I have named her "Chaos". I think appropriately.
The male then moved and I was able to see his bands in a quick glimpse and can amost say for certain it is no longer Tiago, but Stormin from King St. site. I didn't stay much longer as I did not want to be discovered. The new female is very active and always on the move.. I am sure she patrols the downtown neighbourhood, and i'm sure she is the one I see sitting on top of the Scotia Tower looking over her new empire.

I already compared it to last year before I posted. Take a look at your post from March 17, 2018 and compare it with mine today. To me, the patch looks significantly darker now. It could be the plucked feathers, or perhaps the angle of the sun. Sometimes slightly brighter sun, as this is, brings out more contrast.
I'm not sure what to tell you patsy - I'm not an expert on feathers or molts so maybe someone else has a better idea. I know they can look very different depending on the time of day and lighting and temperature, etc. I do remember around the time of my March 17th photo her feathers looked short or missing from that area but now they seem to be growing in. What happened to cause that I have no idea. I haven't seen any signs of trouble but our view is limited on the cams so who knows what goes on out of sight. I do think she looks good and healthy and hope she stays that way.
