Ah ladies, I certainly can relate to all this.  But since mine has passed, I'd give anything to have this problem again.  Be thankful for what you have.

OMG aluminum cans are so sharp. Poor baby. I think whoever is doing this needs one crimped on them so they can see what it feels like. grumble grumble

  And I wouldn't put it around their necks !!!!!

Though I have not personally seen it, my neighbor, who was a birder in years past, told me
she has a Carolina wren coming to her feeder.  Eating off a peanut butter suet cake.

They do make solar powered lights and battery!

Yep, but at this point, the expense for enough to sho would be prohibitive, to say nothing of how I'd get  them strung up there...
Still hoping to see it happen though
