It is unreasonable to take offense to something that was not meant to cause it.  Why such vitriol over an innocent comment? Again, I say: wow.

Personally, I found nothing wrong with Janet's post. Like everyone say's, if you don't like it, skip over it. Don't attack. Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program...EGGS! thumbsup

clap  WELL SAID, DONNA!   Let the eggs begin!

Too cute.  You have to look at this video of the parrot singing.  Birds are amazing!

Wonderful job!   Any newcomer to the falconcam will be aided by this great glossary!  It's also a nice trip down memory lane....thank you to all who contributed!  And to Ei who put it all together.  clap

They need a rest...or me!

Someone left a note on the blog that we need eggs,  and that we are late.  MAK said Archer rerturns late.  This picture shows Beauty, and I agree with MAK that eggs will be coming this week.  My Winnie-bird - a conure who laid about 150 eggs in her 18 year life span, had this  "eggy" look just before she would lay her eggs.  I think we will see eggs this week in the nest box.

You are good!  I wasn't sure who it was.  Looked kind of smaller, but I guessed Beauty.  But it is Archer.
What does all of this mean?  How imminent are the eggs?
1326  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Pictures from the Rfalconcam cameras on: 23-Mar-11, 08:00:15 PM

I guess I can tolerate a bit of snow as long as it has lots of falcon prints!

And we have all noticed the great picture on the new internal cams, right?

Love to see those prints, but right now at 7:59 Beauty in the NB!
1327  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Re: Rhea Mae and Tiago's Webcam - Toronto - Canadian Peregrine Foundation on: 23-Mar-11, 07:53:24 PM

She's back laying in the scrape...in the snow...looks like an egg won't be far behind!
Oh my...is that Rhea Mae?   ...And, has Seneca been seen?
As I looked out at all the birds sitting in the trees and in the fields, with all the snow today, I can't  help but think of their strength, intelligence  and  will to live.  Amazing.  We can all take a lesson from them.

hope you guys get a good look at the boy I want to know if its Archer

I can say with confidence that the falcon with Lady Pefa tonight was definitely not Archer. It was too big and there was no white feather on his right wing. Grin
That's a good thing.   Could it be the one from PC?    Is it banded?

I agree.."Wireless" cartoon is "Priceless"!   Printed it and put it on the door to my "office"...
1330  Rochester Falcons / Rfalconcam Website News / Re: New Features for 2011 on: 21-Mar-11, 09:14:31 PM
I'm still exploring the new links,  and they are wonderful, but one request -- Shaky - if I may be so bold...when you re-format the homepage, will there still be homage to  the Mariah and Kaver legacy?   Without them, so many of us would not be enthralled as we are with our Rochester falcons. I know they will not be forgotten, but for newcomers to the site, a history will be important.  Thank you for all you do.
1331  Rochester Falcons / Rfalconcam Website News / Re: New Features for 2011 on: 21-Mar-11, 09:04:09 PM
I agree with the post about it loading slowly.  It loaded slowly at home.  BUT  it didn't fill up the screen and look as large as it did on my screen at work this morning  (sshhhhh!).   For some reason, it fills up more of my computer screen at work than it does on my laptop at home.    In fact there are inches of white on either side of this forum as I look at it, but at work, it seems to reach just beyond the edges of my screen --and looks huge!    At this laptop, it's at 100 percent.  Not larger.  Sorry, not a tech-ie, but "this much I know."   Never noticed a difference between home and work before.

What a surprise this morning when I signed on. The bright read and blue woke me up!  It's so big and bright.  I especially love the city skyline ... the TS building, Mercury.   Nice work to all involved.
Another nice feature that I just noticed are the links at the bottom.  Very user friendly!   thumbsup

Beauty ( I think) at NB.  Looking up, so A is probably above

Margaret:  According to my research - I discovered about 3% of Tiercels have 2 nests, could be more as now we have falcon cams and watchers where we didn't before so the figure is just a guesstimate by scientists.

I am a watcher at a nest that has a 'bigamous' tiercel and it's been an experience I can tell you.   We've timed Jack one day going from site to site in 3 minutes and 47 seconds.   The distance between his two nests is somewhere between 4 and 5km on the ground, from the air I expect it's alot shorter as he doesn't have to deal with traffic and limitations of infastructure.
Thank you for the information, Carly.  It is fascinating.  I agree with Bobbie that it is probably instinctual...spreading the genes.  And if Archer is going to spread genes, what great ones to spread!
And I'm going to anthromorphize here, but it does sound like an awful lot of work...taking care of two "families".

Usually Dan is correct. If he saw Archer at 10:45 on TS, that means that he was not at KP when Carol's last tweet came in about male leaving at 11:00!! Hmm, it just gets more confusing.

Ya think??

It's the white feather that bugs me! Could there be 2 of them??  Shocked

This is getting like a Pefa Soap Opera.  Are the KP watchers seeing a white feather on LP's visitor?
Is it customary for a tiercel to have two  nests  -- if that is what is happening? Has anyone seen any courtship behaviour?
