And one other interesting tidbit...
If she's 73/H - Female banded at the Bayshore Power Plant, Lucas County, OH 2009- Name: Shay, then she hatched at the same scrape where Millie (Archer's sister) nested in her final year with Swifty, before moving on to Monroe MI with Leopold.
Here's the piece I'm not sure of...Is Shay the daughter of Swifty & a new mate? If she is, she's ALSO a relative of Beauty, though a bit more distant. Swifty is the son of Roosevelt, Roosevelt is the brother of Erie, Beauty's father.
And Erie, Roosevelt & Leopold are full brothers. And Hunter, who was with "our" Ranger in Toronto, is their half brother (all sons of Bandit).
Ei
Wow! You know your PeFa family tree! I don't think I know that much about my own family tree :-) It will be an interesting nesting season. Thank you for all the information..

I'm just trying to keep all of our pefas straight for now. We don't know who Beauty's winter-friend is, but maybe we have an ID on LadyPefa at Kodak Park. IF, as Joyce's pictures show, the Lady Pefa has a band of 71 H, and is Unity from Toledo, Ohio, does that mean that Beauty and Lady Pefa's mother (Belle?) are sisters? I need a score card. But do I have it kind of correct for now?

I agree with Bobbie. MAK, your reports and pictures are wonderful! Your dedication to the falcons and to reporting what you see to rest of us out here is inspiring. Your pictures are the best! Congratulations and lucky you for receiving the new scope for Christmas. I could not do what you do (techno-challenged me). Keep on doing what you are doing. My day begins when I see your reports about Beauty. Sorry for the ruckus I've caused. It wasn't my intention to store my pics here. I have alot to learn. Still a rookie. "MAK admits she is a little techno-challenged" This is an understatement! MAK, your boundless enthusiasm and total dedication to the Falcons overrides everything else!

After her morning adventures, Jemison has reverted to full pancake mode: It's amazing, at this age, how quickly they can turn from falcon to amorphous blob. The splayed out leg and foot is a particularly nice touch. Paul Whose leg and whose foot? Funny picture. Jemison with her/his? leg out, and a an "extra" one on the porch, and yet another one (I think) in the nest box.

I just spoke to Carol having watched Jemison flapping out of the cam1 shot, and she has here in sight. Jemison is on the ledge where the Main camera sets but just further down closer to cam 1 position.
On the video, it truly looked as if she left the ledge. Impossible to see her from that angle. They are getting ready!
