Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Updated Banding Table

I missed Shaky's banding table until you were just discussing it. It's great. How many of the offspring can be accounted for in one way or another? I know some are known to be deceased, but it would be neat to have an update on the last known whereabouts of these offspring. Seneca and Rhea Mae are nesting, Questing is "quest-ing," and I think someone just posted an update about Chayton/Clayton??? Freedom is the father of Archer, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. Any more information out there?

Hi all! Has Beauty or Archer gone in that nest box since the banding? I just got back from downtown. The girls were replaced in the nest book shortly after 11:30, and Jemison moved over to the corner where Callidora was shortly before noon. They look exhausted and really haven't moved much since then. I just double checked the archive viewer and no sign of A or B since the girls were set back in the nest. Shouldn't mom or dad show up soon with food? They've got to be getting hungry. It's now about three hours.

I'd like to suggest to all of us that enjoyed today's very visual banding events to click on the $$$ Donate button $$$ and make your donations now. Thanks!
A great idea Janet. And for those who do not want to donate on-line, an address is given on the same page and you can mail a check or money order. Thank you for the reminder!

"Bring it on, I'm ready for anything today!" "So am I!!" I've seen A and B up on that main camera a few times, but she's been up there looking quite fierce for a while this morning. Do you think she senses what is going to go on? Are people gathering already? And what WAS that very light colored prey in the nest box this morning? Anyone have any idea?

Looking at all of today's images, I'm struck by the fact that Beauty seems to be sticking so close to her chicks today. I know it's a horribly, cold, rainy day here, but it's kind of bittersweet to see the two chicks huddling so close together and mama bird right there for most of this day. Only last week when it was so hot, the chicks spent a great deal of time apart from each other and splayed across the pebbles. It's almost as if they know what's coming....and all too soon, the little ones will be fledging...

Rochester Falcons / Satellite Tracking / Re: Quest Update

I received this report from Doug at Pt Colborne today (6/7/10)
He reports that he is sure he saw Quest in the nest box again at 1 pm today. She stayed for about 1/2 hour. Quest seemed interested in the box & checked out the scrape. He did not have his camera with him today, but will try to get a pic for us if she returns.
You'll remember that Freedom, Mariah and Kaver's first son, nested there for a few years and that this is where Archer was born.
I hope Doug is able to get pictures of Quest!
These people need to get a camera! Carol, did he say what happened to the remaining egg (s) or pair there? Such good news about a sighting of Quest! Thanks for the update. I hope they can keep us updated on more sightings. Is there any camera close by that site or on -site? Kind of cool that that is where Archer hatched.
