Look at Orion! 

Standing where so many of Rochester's greatest falcons have stood..what a moment!!! 

WOW!  What a picture!   He is advanced for his age!   

Thank you to all the watchers who were cheering and hooting at 6:58 this morning as Orion took his first flight.  A joy to watch on video, but I can't imagine the joy you felt as you saw and heard him this morning!    Congratulations to  all of you!   Without you, Beauty might not be here, and that means Orion might not either!

I don't even know where to look...just catching up.  Thank you Shaky and Donna for letting us see all of the fledge fun!   I was just watching the hour and a half video of Orion beginning at 6:33 this morning.  Wonderful!   He was hungry and frustrated, and I think he was chomping on some leftovers in the nest box, and I think he was practicing his opera,  and finally decided to try his own wings when mom and pop didn't appear with some breakfast.   I love watching him take that first flight, and love the cheers that are coming from the street at 6:58 in the morning! A treasure and a privilege to watch Orion do this.  Thank you!

Baby O in the NB for the night/   Not today.  Tomorrow is def his day to fly!

OMG..so cute of Orion playing in the rain!   It needs to be set to music!   We have  never seen a more mature, but soon to be fledgling, dancing around in the rain like that!  Priceless. 
I am thinking "Singing in the Rain"  as background music, or "Hard Rain, it's gonna fall"...quite a choice.
Orion has not seen too much rain in his lifetime, so this was a treat.

This storm came up so suddenly. Thank goodness Baby O is now in the NB.   Stay safe, little one.  The winds are bad.

And she's getting those BYF!   And are we guessing she is a girl-bird from her size?   

 

 

 :wub:It's so funny how many identical poses that Beauty and our baby strike! Donna, I know you can collect them all!   You've posted many of them.   I think it's part of  the learning process for the babes. 
I know we wanted more babies this year, but I think considering all that Beauty has been through, and the drama and loss of Unity, and disappearance of Archer (be safe) - that maybe the one baby is good for  Beauty.  Just as one baby was good for our Quest last year.   And DC is learning.  Have to give him credit...he is trying.  And Beauty is such a good hunter and provider for her young 'un.
