Quest's most recent map...everywhere around EXCEPT the nest box! Look how far she was on Valentine's day!! I'm not seeing that she was that far away from the NB. Am I looking at the wrong map? I pulled down the Weekly map that goes up to Feb. 14. Looks like she is staying pretty close to the nest box from I can see. I hope the watchers see her on their trip on Saturday.

Two names embedded in my head, John Glenn and JFK. Big talk about both when I was a kid. I'll never forget listening to my am radio and hearing "President Kennedy has been shot, OMG, the President has been shot"! The announcer was crying!!
Thanks jeanne!
Didn't read this before I posted to Janet. How did this subject come up? I just mentioned these in my post. I was in gym class, sitting in line; sun streaming through the gymnasium windows. Announcement over PA that President had been shot; followed by his death. We all walked home crying; teachers and principal crying. We sat in front of small black and white TV and watched it unfold. Reality TV. That's why we are who we are NOW! It was real then, but now we show "falsehoods" and pass them off as "realities". Maybe that's why we like the reality of nature and the falcons? It's honest, real, and unscripted? What was that commercial? Never doubt Mother Nature? A butter commercial? Help me out here...
Here ya go! We go from John Glenn to Mother nature!! We so go off, don't we? Leave it to you, Donna. I knew you'd find it! That's it. "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature" I was a little off, but hey, it's true! Thank you for finding that!

Beauty -some good news tonight from DEC. Even better is that tomorrow it's been one week since you were found by some good samaritan. (Thank you). We celebrate and light candles in your honor, Beauty. We are talking about memories tonight... I see you flying around and having a good time last winter with your gentleman caller, Mr. T. You were quite a little flirt. I see you being the good first time mom to Callidora and Jemison. You had to teach Archer, the clueless , a thing or two! I see you on Mercury - the money bag and the foot! I think those are your two favorite spots! And MAK took lots of great pics of you on Mercury. I hope to see you again on Mercury. I see you bathing in the river in a pic that Carol took. It was hot, and you were having a good time. Most of all, I see you sitting on those eggs last spring when it was so cold, and so wet, and you protected those eggs with all of your might. I see you sitting and looking toward the KP site. Wisdom in those eyes. Those are the "Kodak" moments that I have of you Continue to be strong in your peregrine ways, Beauty.

where exactly is the latest on Beauty's condition? I get very little computer time right now I thought it would be here. Can the powers that be maybe put a link in the shout box that would take you to the latest. Nothing on imprints nothing here. Just saying I do not have time to go looking. Funny never thought I'd warm up to Beauty after what happened with Mariah but all it took were two little eyases and that girl has a talon in my heart. Bird Crazy - As you were posting this, an update on Beauty's condition was posted on Imprints. I've added the link to the shout box at the top of the forum home page. Good suggestion! Adding updates to the shout box is good idea. I've been checking it every day when I log in, so hopefully, you can use it ;.

I was a little kid, but I remember John Glenn's first (and 2nd) flights! I thank my mother, who only had a 10th grade education, but she did her best to provide my sister and me with as much knowledge, music, and arts as possible. Thank you Mother - I AM Grateful!
I, too, am showing my age. I remember being a little kid and brought down to the auditorium to watch a tiny black and white TV, but we were watching John Glenn and it was exciting! It is a "Kodak" moment in my memory bank. Along with JFK's death, and the Beatles' arrival on our shore, and seeing the Beatles in concert at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium...one year before the famous Shea Stadium concert. Yeah, I'm old. I remember the second flight of John Glenn too, Janet.

Here's a car you could buy, MAK- for your Falcon watches! Actually, it's the new USFWS Pacific Region Nissan Leaf -from their FB page. Cool car! That falcon decal would look good on the Shakymobile. I want one of these cars!

I want one!! Cute, perfect for DT!!
OMG me too! "Will you be able to fly after your rehab?" Yes Margaret I will, why do you ask? I flew to Arkansas for the holidays after my first knee replacement, remember? LOL, MAK......think Margaret meant to ask if rehab would "give you back your WINGS so you could FLY" along with Beauty. Oh boy, sometimes I'm pretty thick! Thanks for 'splainin' nycbird! I needed a laugh! Thanks NYC bird and MAK. I needed a laugh today!

Well, both my therapist and I were concerned about how hard it was to get my newest knee bending. Just the beginning of last week it measured at only 62 degrees. After having to basically sit on my butt and elevate it my first week home because of swelling and blood pooling in my thigh (and let scar tissue take over). I'm happy to say I have made a break through this week working through the pain and stiffness to do my exercises I was able to bend my knee to 90 degrees today! My therapist and I breathed a collective sigh of relief and fist bumped each other. Anything past 90 is a bonus! Thank you Lord. Amen! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.372424226120847.102922.100000598194281&type=3&l=00ed0f771d Happy for you, MAK! I was concerned about you not exercising and bending the knee as much as you should postoperatively because of your problems but 90 is good! Keep up the good work! Congratulations, MAK! That is good news. That's what I call togetherness...you and Beauty doing "rehab" together! Will you be able to fly after your rehab?
