WOW!  You are not kidding!  SHE is One big  girl!   Gorgeous  pictures and videos.  Her legs are so long.  What was her  prey?  A gull? It had to be... the feathers were flying.      She is wonderful.. I hope this is family member...to M and K.

OK, I am just getting caught up -- some 16 hours after this post - I notice it was at 4 Am this morning...my usual wake up time this time of year EXCEPT on weekends...why so early...I'm sure I'm going to find out, but this is way early!  Do you EVER sleep?

I think the St. Ann's/Medley center falcon is a female

and  Carol just referred to the falcon as a "she".  An unbanded female?    We are going to need a score card again.  Who knew that Rochester would be such a popular PeFa town?
 happy
As long they all stay safe.
Could they be  falcons passing through the area and the high-hormone time is over so for right now there are no battles?

They certainly could be early migrators and the pressure isn't on to defend against all comers.

You know, we've often wondered over the years why Rochester doesn't have more PeFas.  Look at Buffalo...Toronto...Cleveland...can't blink without entering the territory of a different pair.  We'd often joke that it was M&K keeping the whole county clear...maybe it wasn't a joke after all.

That is starting to make perfect sense to me.  M and K were Fierce defenders of their territory.   And true, I have wondered why Buffalo, Toronto have so many nesting sites compared to Rochester.  So maybe now ROC is now PeFaTown!

Oh, you have no idea how hard I looked through that scope hoping to see that yellow & blue striped band, or even just one silver band.  I tried and I tried until I was going cross-eyed.  Oh please, oh please, oh please be Mariah!  But, it wasn't to be.  This big female was gorgeous.  A little buff in the front, but no where as dark as Beauty.  It was the face that got me.  Flat head and beautiful eyes.  Oh, how I dream of seeing "our" Mariah some day.   wub2

Just made me cry. We all want to see Mariah!   But you and Mariah, Carol, had a special relationship.

Is there now a fifth falcon in town?  Is this new falcon at KP the same one that all the watchers are seeing at Medley Centre or St. Annes? Is the one at Medley Center number five?

That's where I saw the Pefa chasing some TV's last spring, Carol.    I was on my way to RGH.  Same spot!

Good pictures...MAK, I think these are yours?   Good looking falcon!   Good size too! It is a male?  Without a comparison it's hard to tell, but  it is an adult  - judging from plumage.   Maybe the word is out that Rochester is a cool place to nest, and there are some BEAUTY-ful females, and wild watchers, and who knows, ..could be a reality show in here somewhere!     Cheesy

Thank you to all you wild watchers out there!    notworthy

Are you teasing us or have you seen pics that make you think it's Jemison?
657  Rochester Falcons / Falcon Watches / Twitter 2011 on: 08-Sep-11, 08:45:13 AM
Would love to be at KP right now!

I wonder if this is a tiercel or another female Archer's added to his harem?  rofl

The picture didn't look like a juvie either did it?  I had the strange thought that maybe U and A had a hatch this summer, but the pic posted is not that of a juvie.    So all three can be sharing the same space in harmony?

You're not serious are you?  that it could be Mr. T?
 Shocked
I think they made a movie like this in the 70's...called Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice

..or something like that!

I, also, tried earlier to leave a post on Imprints blog, but got the "message" that I needed to log in.  I did not do that.   I'm used to being able to leave posts on the falconwatch blog, so the Imprints message caught me by surprise.  So what should we do?
