Isn't she something - I'm sure she is a girlie - she reminds me of Callidora Hope everyone has a safe trip to see the banding - please tell them how much this has meant to be able to watch her Yes! I hope all the watchers have a safe trip to Toronto, and yes, PLEASE thank Harlequin Enterprises for allowing us to view the fun of Quest raising her little Harlequin!

You know, she may be ok. When I came back in, and looked at the web cam, it had stopped and she was in the corner of the ledge. Somehow she made it over or around to the other side of the nest box where she is now. I think someone wrote a short while ago that they are instinctively afraid of the edge right now. Hope her instincts are strong!

I was just thinking ahead to when Harlie fledges -- a question for MAK or Joyce or Carol -- those of you who have visited Quest's ledge. The building is not in a city block is it? My feeling from looking at the pictures is that it is kind of a suburban office park situation. What types of building, ledges, resting places are around for Harlie once she flies? And how many floors up is the scrape?
Does the height or lack of height present any additional problems for a fledgling? Are there other concerns about the area? Can one of you describe the surrounding area for those of us who haven't been there? Maybe take some pictures on Tuesday when you are up for the banding? thanks.

quick notice to let everyone know that has been following and watching Quest and Kendals nest site that on Friday morning, and throughout the day, the window washers will be on site to set up the swing stage and other equipment necessary to facilitate access to the nest ledge on Tuesday for the banding.
While you might see ropes hanging in front of the nest ledge, they will not casse any harm to the birds. The ropes will be nothng more than a temporary distraction from their duties.. Quest and Kendal will settle back into thier regular routines as soon as the window washers stage is set up and the human activity is off the roof area.
It is necessary to set most of this equipment up well in advacence to ensure that everything is working fine prior to the day of the banding. Any unknown equipment challenges on Tuesday would cause un-necessary delays and/or cancellation of the banding altogether.
