Honestly I wouldn't want to do that to her. Except for Quest most transmitter birds don't have much luck. Little ones have too much against them in their first year. I hate the idea of giving them one more to deal with. I admit it was nice knowing where Quest  wub2 was when we couldn't see her though. So many of them are never heard from again.  Sad

I don't know, I'm 50/50 on the transmitter. We really don't know the odds of transmitter peregrines, except for our 2, Skye and Hafoc. Quest made it and she was the 1 in 3, I guess. IDK.

Is there information out there about other Peregrines that have worn a transmitter?  Is Quest the longest "tracked" Peregrine?   It's the nailpolish!  It has been  fun tracking her "quest".

Things are pretty flappy at UB this evening. This is the best way I can get my fledgling fix.  Looks like two have fledged.  Only two left on the perches and moving on and off the ledge on either side of the nestbox.

Pics below from this evening.  An adult must have been above them with prey, because I could see feathers falling and these two were vocalizing (can't hear them on cam), flapping, and looking up.

The one that is on the right perch stayed out there flapping most of the time.  This one doesn't quite have the balance down pat yet.  The closest one has been hopping and jumping from perch to ledge and back. I suspect that one will go first.

As dusk approached they came back into the nestbox.  One nibbled on scraps and then both were beak to beak.

Will there be a morning fledge?

I love your word choice, Joyce:  "fledgling fix".  That soooo fits this year!  I find myself looking to the TS NB, and saddened.   But I am getting my "Fledgling fix"  by looking at  Rhea Mae/Tiago's nest, and I adore  Quest and Harlie's webcam.   Maybe "fledgling  fix" should be added to the rfalconcam glossary?

Archer waits for Beauty
Presto!!
"come a little bit closer!"

Renewing their bond?   Don't they do this at the end of the nesting season too?  Just before A leaves?
Fascinating to watch their behaviors.    As it is to watch Quest with her little one.  She is such a good mother to Harlequin!  She rarely leaves her side.

This is so funny.   End of the year crazies have me, but this is wonderful. Love the captions.   But seriously, was this a friendly encounter?   Looks maybe hostile?

Beautiful pictures of the nest site under the bridge.  The pefa is   beautiful.  In one of the pictures it appears that she is sitting on the hard hat of Craig -- she's not -- but it looks like it at first glance.
Sad that only one of five eggs hatched.  Seems to be the story this season.  It has to be the cold and very wet spring.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

That is one gigantic crop!   Quest, don't you know about childhood obesity?    Grin

Today is the first day in a long time that I didn't check in at all until a little while ago.  First, MAK and Joyce, -such devoted watchers, photographers and reporters -- GLAD YOU ARE OKAY!    Someone was watching over you!   Car's and car parts can be replaced -- people can't be!    Second, thanks to Bruce and Carly, and Donna for watching out for them.   It is true - "birds of a feather....".  Thank you.
Ladies, get home safe!  I hope you don't have any "next day" aches and pains, but    at least you will be home.  Beauty is waiting for you!    Be safe, ladies!

SOS Can anyone help Joyce and MAK? No one has communication with them and Joyce had an accident, (both she and MAK are fine) but they won't let Joyce take her car home, (even though it runs). She has bad front end damage. Can someone get a hold of Carol and the girls to let them know. Sue is worried! They are in Toronto some where and no PH signal. I want to help but just don't know how. I see Lisa has signal, is there anyway to get a hold of her?? Thanks

Does anyone know a way to find out where MAK and Joyce are? Sue just asked me. NO fun, not knowing.

OMG - just scrolling through today's posts and seeing MAK and Joyce had accident...hope they are okay and safe......sending good thoughts to both!

Grissom and Rhiannon were the 2 names I submitted in 2004 when asked to name a Kodak falcon. M&K didn't have a daughter named Rhiannon, but now they have a granddaughter that is.

I know why you submitted Grissom...why did you also choose Rhiannon?

Gus?  Stevie Nicks? Just guessing?  Don't know...

Ok Skaky  - now we are both showing our age!   Gus and Fleetwood!  Great name! Fly High little one!

OMG! That poor bird will never fly with all the food Quest feeds her/him. heart

I still think Harlie is a "her"  and she is a well-fed "her"...yes!
