very well done Tracy & BF! BTW you might want to practice the driving a bit before you take your feathered friends for a ride. You wouldn't want to stress them more than needed. A driveway or fairly empty parking lot are good places to practice.
Years ago I was visiting my Aunt, and she asked me to take her to to renew her DL. I had never seen her behind the wheel of a vehicle. I asked her when she had last driven. The answer , the day she had gotten it. She only kept it up in case of an emergency.

Kris, I remembered that Joyce had tweeted something about U looked like she was in incubation mode . It was on July 3. reply #5111. If the eggs are viable hatch should be early August maybe around the 6th. Fledge would be in September.
Also everyone, please remember Rochester usually has a mild September and October. The earlieest snow I remember was October 31.

It's not necessary for the birds to die, they do moult. And feathers, if stored correctly can "live" many years . Think feather beds, down comforters, down coats, etc.

Scratch crossed the Rainbow Bidge today to loin her sister Peck. She died peacefully sleeping in Craig's arms, one of her many favorite places to be. RIP little one
