Thank you for all of your support during the WeatherMachine Contest!  We realized 3rdplace in the Weather Machine Contest. Through all of your efforts we participated in “Mission 2 The Skyâ€� with Andy Parker and 4 other area schools.  “Mission 2 The Skyâ€� was an awesome experience for our students and teachers who participated. I did see that on the news this morning.-
 I didn't quite understand why all the new tortoises were sterilized. Is it because even though closely related it's not the same species?  or only because they want to get the island back to it's former state before the goats were introduced.  Just wondering..

They do not give us numbers but did use a bar graph.   1st Place:  Ronald Sodoma Elementary   2nd Place:  A.J. Schmidt Elementary  3rd Place:  Thomas Marks Elementary (us) 4th Place: Harvey Fenner elementary.     Out of it we were invited and did participate in the "Mission 2 The Sky"  that Andy Parker did with the schools.  Here is a link for the outcome of that event.   There are several videos that can be watched from the experiments he did with the 5 schools, to the balloon launch, and the video from the cameras that were in the box when the balloon went up into the sky.  It was pretty cool.  The box had all of the school logos on it - ours is the pirate "Hutch" which seems to get shown a lot.   http://www.wgrz.com/news/specials/mission2sky/default.aspx

Hope you have been able to follow the Mission 2 The Sky events either on the website or "Daybreak" here in the the WNY area.  If you didn't see it on TV then check out the website:  www.WGRZ.com.  The Weather Balloon Launch was successful and there are some really great video footage of the "flight".    Our kids were part of the experiments and the launch thanks to all of your efforts of helping us with our quest to bring the Andy Parker's Weather Machine to our school.  We have today and tomorrow for voting for the weather machine.  So please help us make a great finish to what has been a great learning experience not only for the kids but for all of us.  Who knew we'd be learning about weather these last three months.

I you happened to follow Mission 2 The Sky you know that it was a successful launch.   The weather box was found in Ontario Canada.  There are some really cool pictures of the event.   The events are on www.WGRZ.com  Mission 2 The Sky page.
