Gardens Alive http://www.gardensalive.com
has all sorts of Organic and non-toxic gardening and pest control products.  I discovered them some years ago, when looking for a non-toxic slug bait, which they have.  It's called Escar-Go!  laugh

Scratch crossed the Rainbow Bidge today to loin her sister Peck.
She died peacefully sleeping in Craig's arms, one of her many favorite places to be.
RIP little one

Oh, Dear, I'm so sorry  crying

Thank you all for good wishes.  My latest chemo is working and I am getting better at last.  That and the love of friends and family make this a very happy day.

I'm SO glad to hear that!  I hope today is the start of a very good year for you  pray

A number of local Search and Rescue are enroute to NZ, we have great diplomatic relations with NZ, so Jeff will get home.  He might get to his stuff eventually.  Thank God he's ok, albeit a very changed man.  He'll probably mark time for the rest of his life as before the quake and after the quake (sort of like dawn 9/11 and 9/12/2001).  He might be allowed to help, if he is so inclined and able while he waits for paperwork and transport home.

Now is a good time to contact (don't answer unsolicited e-mails) the American Red Cross - blood and cash (money is always needed is disasters like this).

Thanks for the update and prayers of strength for Jeff and those that are around him.   pray

A number of listmates on the Australian Cat Fancier lists have been reporting from there firsthand.  Truly horrifying  crying
Another group that shows up to help is the Salvation Army.
That part of the World has really been getting smacked lately  Sad

I think it's time for me to take a road trip!  This little guy is less than a half hour away!  I think I;ll keep watching the birds in the back yard for him.  I see a couple here and there I really can't identify because they move so fast!

My Mom grew up in Center Strafford  happy
Some of my fondest memories are of being a summer "farm kid" there.

For Dale... Thanks for those web links!

Mondegreens can be found in every area of the spoken word, from the record buyer who asks for a copy of the Queen single "Bohemian Rap City" to the schoolchild who is convinced that the Pledge of Allegiance begins "I led the pigeons to the flag."

A lady I knew in another life, in NH, always referred to the (Megabucks) lottery as "Magnavox".
She made sure she bought her Magnavox Ticket every week  laugh

Buzz, April 1998 to February 2011

The Wildlife Center was saddened by the loss of a long-time member of its environmental education animal ambassador team last weekend when Buzz the Great Horned Owl passed away.

She leaves us with heavy hearts, and some big anklets to fill.

Oh my!

One of my most memorable experiences as a little kid was the occasional visits to our school by people from the Boston Museum Of Science.  They brought animals, and my favorite was their GHO named Spooky.  Such an awesome bird, and such dignity!

Now if those homeland security types would read this article instead of harassing birders...

Some railroad police need to learn this as well.  Who better to notice and report anything "odd" but an educated observer watching something (s)he loves?

From the kfalconcam list from my Friend Mary:

I'm so sorry, Donna.  Carol F. (Tokira) and I have been in your shoes many times, both of us having raised cats for years, and it never gets any easier.  Having a group of animal lovers like this around you does help, so please know there are many virtual arms reaching out to hug you.

As many as we've had to bid adieu over the years, it seems the tears are nearer the surface each time.  Hugs to you tonight, Donna.  May he bask in the light from the rainbow at the bridge, with Janet's Bart, Mary's guys, My Bart and Polly, and all the others.
Hugs to you.

Don't rock the Anthem. Don't hop-hop it. Don't pimp it. Don't boogie it. Just sing it right! Get some high school kid from the neighbourhood and ask him or her to do it right! It does not need twists and turns and rubbish phrasing. Sing it straight! I am always soooooo embarrassed when I hear these hot rock people go at it. Just get up there, cut the rubbish and sing! Hand on heart and sing!

I'm with you!  Our National Anthem isn't some trendy rock song.  I feel the same about what some of them do to Christmas Carols.  Keep the theatrics on the stage at THEIR OWN concerts, and spare us the rubbishing of classics.
My NOT so humble opinion  handshake

That's how my grandfather pronounced it...he also did the "earl" for oil Brooklynism!  His father was Welsh, but his mother was Irish with a brogue as thick as soda bread, from what I hear.

In (Northern?) Virginia, that's pronounced OLE...  Change th' ole in the corr.
