How did this thread devolve from status reports on Jemison's condition to cats?
Gayle
Sharing info about the healing properties of sound frequencies of a cat's purr. It's become common knowledge that those frequencies accelerate fracture healing. That info is therefore quite relevant to a discussion of its potential for healing of Jemison's fractured shoulder Carol WV

In young birds like Jemison bones heal fast,...
Too bad he/she cant share a cage with a cat: <http://www.leaflady.org/purr.htm> There has been MUCH research, pointing to the healing properties of purring frequencies. I can vouch for their efficacy; almost five years ago I had a really nasty pneumonia, and spent a almost month in my recliner with four cats purring me better. Carol WV

Forget the internet! Is THAT your (now deceased) stud? Magnificent image!
Nope, that is my Main Man, Grand Champion Rakiscats Chardin Klees, aka Charly, who came to me at five years old. He is a Chestnut Shaded Silver Oriental Shorthair. He is now a happy go lucky neutered boy of eleven, still gorgeous, and a sweet sweet boy. Carol

Ok, my boss it the IT Director for the network stuff, so it is a bit easier for me to ask. Seriously, ask - there's lots of educational material here and for lunchtime etc, you could probably make the case.
Nobody saw me in my office with tears running down my face at the news of Isaura's death, or when Mariah was hurt and mantling the babies while Kaver fed them all... I kept the kfalconcam site open in the background most of the time there... Mostly it was stress relief Carol

Not my boss, He didn't want to give me email access and I need that for my job. For a while had to keep asking him to check the email and then he would print it out for me. Til it got to be to much of a pain for him. Let alone it was a constant pain for months for me. When the accounting firm where I worked for eleven years finally got network internet access, I still insisted on a modem under my desk. I took a lot of grief for that, but I used it quite a bit to send timely transfers, direct deposits, and tax deposits, when the "foolproof" network access was down. Picture me sending file amounts bigger than my year's salary, via my own AOL account Carol (now coasting at Home Depot )

Me, too. I can't find anything about the melting flowers. They aren't getting brown - just black goo and melting, which is why I posted here. I figure someone will have seen this before.
That part sounds like some sort of fungus to me... There are some sprays for fungus, you might want to try one on part of the bush. Carol in WV Whose huge Limelight Hydrangea is about to burst into bloom, and whose Lady in Red Hydrangea is covered in, get this, BLUE flowers! Both in almost full shade.

In all my years of showing cats, he was one of the most fun to show. Since he WAS a big robust boy, I always got him a double cage in the benching area at the shows. He would sit in the center of it, heels toward the front corners, and GROOM himself endlessly, to the vast entertainment of the spectators In the judging cage, and on the table, he would develop a big case of "happy tail", which, when it continues up the back, looks for all the world like "hackles" raised. Only the judges could hear him purring all the while I miss those days... Carol WV

Many years ago, I was showing a rather large Lilac Point Siamese boy, named funnily enough, Ch. Petmark Kleine D'Artagnan of Tokira. One weekend, we checked into the hotel, and I got him out of his carrier, and put his cute little stud pants on him. He dove under the bed, emerged from the other side sans pants, and promptly hopped up on a chair and HOSED the curtain. He spent the remaining nights in the hotel in the bathroom <G> This boy was a trip to show, he had a regular fan club :-) Carol WV

That's good Janet. Now for part 2. Said person returned today. I hadn't seen him the first time, but I had heard his story. This time it gets even better. Kind of like the fish that got way. As he was coming up the stairs, he was telling us that the Falcons visit him on his balcony all the time. Kathy O made the mistake of asking him where he saw them. He told us that the falcons we were watching were young ones and that the original falcons from the Kodak Tower were massive. They stood about 3 feet tall and had a HUGE wing span and their heads went back and forth like a cobra. I guess Mariah and Kaver have now hit legendary status. Maybe it's Ospreys that he has on his balcony Carol WV

Just got this from a friend of mine. Any ideas? This baby hawk has been living high in the tree in my sisters back yard. He must have gotten out of the nest during the storm earlier tonight. He cant seem to get flight to get back into the nest. My mom and sister are keeping an eye on him.
Thank you so much, Donna! I tried for three days to get this photo up, after having told my friend that my friends would get an ID "in a heartbeat" <G> Carol Furnée WV

Every year in DC for the World Bank - but the same loonies showed up in Toronto, as they move from "protest" to "protest" and THAT is enough from me.
Years ago, when they were building the Seabrook (NH) Nuke Plant, of course there were all kinds of protesters. The plant got built in spite of them They howled about using stuff like Hydro, wind, and solar power. So, soon after, when a group of Hydro people wanted to rebuild an old Hydro station, with modern turbines (not so different from old ones BTW), the SAME protesters showed up there. Professional protesters. They did manage to halt the Hydro project : Carol now in WV
