Lots of flooding & trees down in the area.  Some roads washed out.  Some towns are just inundated. 

I got power back sometime during the night but my pump shut off so I had no water...no time this morning to investigate.  Hopefully just the low pressure switch cut out.

I'm as ready as I can be.  Right now I'm waiting for some clearer idea when the heavy rains will actually get here.  I need to head into work ahead of the real nasty stuff (I work in a nursing home-all hands needed in critical weather) but it's barely moved in the past few hours.

Thanks.  I got here safely a while ago-not really working yet-just reading a book-the call outs should be starting any time now, so I'll be busy soon I'm sure.

I think that might be Kendal-who is smaller & thinner.  But they will all look thinner this time of year as they molt & grow in new feathers.

The camera has zoomed! It's Quest on the nest. Hmm...I wonder if Harlequin has left us. Hope not!!

I have only one thing to quote here...

The RSPB said it had visited Mr Farquharson in 2008 after the first attack and paid for the installation of netting to keep his birds safe, but that these protection measures had since been removed.

Oh phooey!  Maybe they were injured in the fall.  She still did the right thing, but it stinks. 

Yup.  It was actually fascinating.  I was behind some security gates that started rattling.  I thought someone was knocking on the gate.  Then I realized all 3 gates were rattling in synch.  Then I noticed I automatically took a "sea-legs" stance-that's when I realized the floor was moving. 

I've had the rattling dishes kind before, but I don't recall feeling a ground-shaker in New York before!

I agree-leave them be and Momma will return.  Remember how long it takes for parent Pefas to return after banding?  She's watching over the territory and waiting for the human to stop fussing over her babies!
