Knock on wood. If there is a place where Harlie can get into trouble, she probably will. But then Quest took her time choosing the right place. She certainly scouted out Canada and Cape Cod.
and Nantucket. And somewhere on Long Island -- according to my Quest Tour Tee shirt! Or was it Shelter Island ? Also a VERY nice place! Quest has been around! LOL! Yes, it was Shelter Island, which is technically part of Long Island...on her way back from New Jersey... Map

No set time for Wild Wings yet-still just plotting. A Buffalo watch sounds like fun! But no border crossings for me this trip ...saving up to renew the passport &/or get an enhanced DL when I renew in November. I WILL get to see the Toronto crew next year!

I have been contacted by Eileen(Dumpsterkitty) via email in regard to her visit to Rochester this coming weekend. She will be here Friday and Saturday. I don't know if anyone else from out of town is coming but she and I will be visiting Wild Wings on Friday(I have previous plans for Saturday). She has room for 1 one more passenger besides me. I know people work but if there is anyone else who can join us please let us know. I will be contacting Dan and Brian to see if they are interested. Also, if any of our local watchers is planning a trip to Buffalo on Saturday I'm sure Ei would like to join them. Thanks MAK! I was going to post a note when I got home, but you beat me to it! I actually have room for 2 more aside from MAK for Wild Wings (that'll teach me to write when I've got something else on my mind). And Saturday...I'm ready to just go with the flow!

!!! A hard story to tell July 11, 2011 - Windsor - Ambassador Bridge Marion Nash Reports: This morning we contacted the OMNR office to discuss Lady Gaga and what was to be done now. With heavy hearts we are sorry to say she was humanely euthanised today at the vet clinic. I was with her until she Peacefully went to sleep for good. I know in my heart it was the right desision and this poor little girl is now at peace. If you see any of our Fledge Watch Team as you drive by honk your horn or give a wave to these folks who are out there looking after your Peregrine family I know they would appreciate it very much. Posted on July 11, 2011 6:03 pm Observation for Windsor - Ambassador Bridge Fly free, Lady Gaga! We've lost far too many this year...

!!! Baby H is doing very well indeed!!! She has both parents undivided attention! July 10, 2011 - Toronto - Don Mills Mark Nash Reports:
Sunday July 10th - 2011 - PM watch report:
By 9:15pm this evening, Baby H had settled down for the evening, resting on the upper ledge of 240 Duncan Mill Rd building quite obviously pooped out with the days activities. During her late afternoon and early evening antics, she made more than seven short flights from building to building without any problems, gaining altitude from the 5th and 6th floor ledges to the upper roof of the 225 Duncan mill road - (the Harlequin building roof top). This roof top is 10 plus floors in elevation. Quest and Kendal were with her (or should I say almost on top of her during most of the flights), and are incredible parents, especially given that they are new parents!
I must add, that after more than 17 years of fledge watching in the streets - (and at many different nest sites), Quest is one tough parent, and certainly a demanding sot! I have NEVER seen a more “nagging” parent, as Quest constantly pursues Kendal around vocalizing at him during most of the daylight hours!! Even the other fledge watch team members have all come and asked us what on earth does Quest want of Kendal? ? ? ?
She is screaming, pursuing and chasing him all the time even after he brings in food!!! This poor little guy never gets any piece and quiet!! Well, what can I say, family rearing is a demanding job,, and the female falcon wears the “feathers” in the family and its obvious that she feels that she needs to keep him on his toes and is making sure that he is attentive at all times!!
WOW, is she keeping him on his toes!!! Oh my goodness!! Is she a nag!!!
Marion and I closed the watch for the day just after 9:30 pm feeling very good about what had been reported by the fledge watch team from earlier events of the day, and very satisfied with Baby H’s progress during the evening watch. She is doing very well indeed, and obviously benefiting from not having any siblings to compete with for her parents attention!!
The low rise office buildings surrounding this nest site with all of the easy to access ledges are a great benefit both Baby H and the parents. It is also a huge benefit to us doing the fledge watch.
The availability of empty parking lots and open unobstructed air space around the three main buildings is very accommodating and makes this fledge watch a very easy process. There is absolutely no weekend traffic and the area is very quiet indeed! Makes for a very stress free watch in comparison to most of the other fledge watches were involved in.
Quest and Kendal are outstanding parents and are staying tight to Baby H. Posted on July 11, 2011 12:21 pm Observation for Toronto - Don Mills

Eee! I watched Harlequin fly past my window and land at the very top of "her" building. She looks like a pro! No landing problem at all! Now she's just flown to the top of the Harlequin building. So amazing and I'm so delighted she seems to be a fast learner! She looks beautiful. Uhhhh... Kat? See? Just takes one sip and you are addicted! (But you are working, right? Just like the rest of us??) Bobbie-whatchu talkin' 'bout? We're not addicted! (much)

!!! Banding Success - Two healthy female hatchlings & the Resident adult identified via leg band! July 08, 2011 - Niagara Falls Mark Nash Reports: A huge success today with two healthy hatchlings banded, a new nest tray installed with lots of nest substrate, hatchlings moved from the window ledge to the new nest (old nest cavity), and both parents attending the chicks!!
So, does anyone know-or know someone to ask-why the scrape was moved? It was in a window so I suspect there was access into the "building", such as it is, or other hazard. Just wondering...

Kudos to Mark, the OMNR, the OPG, the CPF, the NPCP, the Rock Climbers (RC?), and the RFW! May we know the ID of the banded resident adult at Niagara Falls?
!!! Additional Niagara Photos - Banding July 9th - 2011 July 08, 2011 - Niagara Falls Mark Nash Reports: All photos by Mark Nash of the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. Photos showing that there is a new resident female, banded with a Black 42 over a Red H, indicating that the resident adult female is still “Diamond“,,,, a 2009 bird, produced in Canton Ohio.
