With all the action taking place in Toronto, it seems kind of quiet here in Rochester with our falcons. Did I read that someone thought there MIGHT be two new eggs in the scrape at Kodak Park? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part?
I believe the opinion is they are the original 2 eggs, just visible now. It looked like some of the pigeon poop was gone exposing the eggs.

This website is awesome and a true benefit to the birding community as well as the community at large. The still photographs that get posted are amazing. I wonder if there should be a separate category in the Forum for the posting of the photos? I'm never really clear where to look for pictures. They, or their links, seem to be spread over several categories. Just wondering. Well, we sort of have a thread for pictures, but it seems to function more as a general discussion thread with pictures. There is another thread called Keepers for special photos, but I don't know that it's actually used much.

OK, this is my dumb question. Why would they have ropes etc if the window is just there? Couldn't they just reach Harlie that way?
And I have to say that uncurtained window makes me nervous. I would be tempted to look out all the time if I was in that office but I don't think that is necessarily the best for the falcons
I don't think the windows open. They had to use the swing stage to put in the nest tray too. I suspect those blinds have been open all along...the birds are probably used to the movement in there by now...I guess better to have a full time partial view than opening & closing the blinds.

I don't believe Rochester weighs the eyases
Correct. Any reason for that, Shaky? Seems odd, but then... what do I know! I think we'd have to ask DEC why that's their policy & procedure. No weigh-ins in NY, but other states do. But then I don't understand the P&P in some of those states-PA weighs them but also (in Harrisburg with more than one eyas) chooses one to take a tour around the auditorium...

She came back into view. Did you see her? She tried to get back into the tray again. Every time she makes her way out to the edge, she turns around, goes back to the wall and then sits in the corner facing the wall. Does that make her feel more secure?
I missed it-though I did notice she's back in view. She seems to go as far as the end of the box before turning around-yes, the corner feels safe. No idea how much she'll weigh.
