I do understand where you are coming from kitty. I should add though that my thoughts are based more on science than feelings.'
Sorry if I didn't articulate that properly. That being said I do try to be sensitive to other people's feelings on the topic - even though I understand the science/biology of it, I'd be lying if I said I didn't get attached to them and sometimes forget they're not like us !
Thank you. Scientific fact is what I think has been missing from the discussion.

OK...I may get blacklisted for this, but I really just have to say what's on my mind...
I'm having a lot of trouble reading all the posts about Beauty longingly looking north for her cad of a former mate who has forgotten all about her.
Wishing for a new "faithful" mate for her or Unity is only inviting a territory battle where one of them is likely to lose their life.
They are all doing what instinct tells them to do. Period. It may feel like a soap opera from our human perspective, but it's not. It's nature doing what nature does.
I surely do have my personal feelings about how the season has turned out so far. I am sad beyond words. But now is the time when we must be EXTRA careful to NOT be anthropomorphizing!
OK...off my soapbox...

!!! A Few more days till ready June 05, 2011 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre Linda Woods Reports:
These photos taken today shows how fast the little ones mature. I found them snoozing and enjoying the warm sunshine. William appears to be the loner of the group, as he spend all of his time at the other end of the ledge during my visit.
Fledge Watch will begin this Wednesday June 8th and will be in full swing by the weekend.
The first one to fly should be Sunshine, green tape, then Kate, blue tape.
Funny-I had noticed Kate wanting to be alone! And I think William may go before Kate-he doesn't have much fluff left...

Hi guys! Although you probably didn't know I was missing, I'm back! With a shiny new 'puter...hard drive gave out on the old one. Thankfully I saw it coming & did a full backup Friday night so I'll just be missing a few pictures from Saturday. Now to get used to this keyboard-it's tiny, but there isn't a jack on this to plug in my old one...might just have to get a USB converter...
Anyway...off to get firefox set up...later!

Kris: Frank told me that yesterday for the first time, Stormin was observed bringing food to the female and she accepted it and took it to feed her offspring. They will continue to monitor but that is a very good sign . Apologies for not mentioning it earlier. While I feel awful that Irving was killed, I'm also happy that Stormin' has stepped up and the female (do we know where she's from? Is she named?) is accepting him so far. These birds bring such bittersweet moments...
