Thank you for the great pictures Bonnie & so glad the transmitter is being reused. Hope wasn't injured was she or did they just decide to use it on her for tracking. And I see Skye had it before - I do not know about that story - is there a place with that info I can read about.
Skye was the 2005 fledgling who was given a transmitter. It was a project of the Migration Research Foundation. Sadly, she only made it to early September 2005. She died in Lucknow, ON. You can find the full details on the MRF Peregrine page(Yes, Carol, we really do need to knuckle under & get the history project on track)

I thought...um, nevermind. I think that egg cracked in the nest. I thought Archer took 2 eggs. No Ei, you didn't miss anything. I'm just missing a piece of my mind! Actually, your mind is fine, just the details are fuzzy...Archer was on the second egg when it collapsed into a zillion tiny pieces.

Their could be another egg in the well at the nest. Archer looked like he put one over the side to the left of the nest box. Maybe it's still there. He didn't seem to carry it away.
Am I right in thinking the only way to see that would be to seriously unzoom the Main Cam, if it is in a spot not blocked by a board? I'm confused...wasn't that the egg that MAK found on the street. Or maybe I missed something...

Good sign that Beauty has been in and around the nest box so much this morning (I don't know if that is a statement or a question Could she possibly be getting ready to lay an egg? Just asking... Conventional wisdom states that it takes 3 weeks to re-cycle after a failed nest. But adherence to conventional wisdom has surely been absent this season...

I like this quote... "Nash has already burned through three cellphone batteries spreading the good news to the birding community that has watched this saga with interest. In Rochester, New York, where Quest was born, 'they’re already going ballistic,' he said." He's the master of understatement, isn't he?

I think that's just the way the feathers are ruffling. There are a few small feathers (cannot come up with the name right now-need more coffee) right at that point of the wing that often look out of place in flight.
From Wikipedia: Feathers on the alula...are not generally considered to be flight feathers in the strict sense; though they are asymmetrical, they lack the length and stiffness of most true flight feathers. However, alula feathers are definitely an aid to slow flight. These feathers—which are attached to the bird's "thumb" and normally lie flush against the anterior edge of the wing—function in the same way as the slats on an airplane wing, allowing the wing to achieve a higher than normal angle of attack – and thus lift – without resulting in a stall. By manipulating its "thumb" to create a gap between the alula and the rest of the wing, a bird can avoid stalling when flying at low speeds or landing. Sorry - none of my posted answer to Kris' question posted in the right place!
I know the mods have the power to edit our posts, but I know how to do this much... I am also having trouble. I get a screen that says access is denied as i am not logged in? I thought it was my Internet Explorer, but everything else seems to be working. I can access the first screen of CPF and then when i click on latest news, I get the access denied screen 403. It we are both getting that, it's probably a problem with their site.
