I'm sorry...I didn't mean to alarm anyone with my question. I guess I'm not used to it being almost a week between eggs. Beauty laid that first egg last Friday night. Maybe she is waiting for Donna's visit on Friday! Don't apologize, margaret! Absolutely nothing to be sorry about! You're just voicing what many people are thinking...which is why we already started researching "Has this ever happened before?" so that our answers can be as factual as possible.

Oh my, It sounds like problems. I was wondering how many eggs there were, but if Archer is not present and Beauty is frazzled - - --- what is going on? ??? ??? Lola Archer has been around...and so has Beauty. Not as often as I think we'd all like, but... I don't know that there's a real problem. Beauty is tending the egg as she would at this point in a "normal" schedule clutch. Since she's not full time incubating, she thinks there are more eggs to come. A review of other peregrine history shows several other instances of long gaps between eggs for one reason or another with all eggs eventually hatching just fine. So, we just have to wait & see how the story unfolds.

Hello Rochester, a long-long time ago I grew up in Greece and was a Kodak Kid. In fact I still have several friends that still draw Kodak paychecks (note i did not say "work at"). In one of lifes ironic twists, in 2002 I found myself working in Hartford at Travelers Insurance, Which just happens to have a Tower not a whole unlke the Kodak Tower. A few floors above me a falcon called Amelia had just started nesting on the 22nd floor ledge. Since that first spring when the perigrines started swooping around the tower, even landing on our sills and generally terroizing the pigeon population, I have been hooked on the falcons. Being p[art geek, I quickly found your orginall site and have been monitoring both my current and previous homes falcon activity. Even more interesting is that our first falcon hailed form Greece NY, she was captive breed and somehow fledged there. For those not aware of our birsd, here is a link - http://falconcam.travelers.com/news.html - Now it is very weak compare to what you have, but it is run by Travleres communication group and technically managed by IT, so its shoe-string. But our new birds (no one has confirmed if its the same couple from the last few years, Amelia, like Mariah, disappeared a few years back) are top notch, She started laying eggs on 3/21 and has four in the cooker now, she rarely gets up (I know the IT guy so i have a "live" feed of the the 10 minute stills on the web site), the male just brings food, Also our DEP refuses to name them ("they are wild animals") and I am embarrassed by our box, could they spare a bit more lumber?! Anyway, sorry to ramble on but I did want to introduce myself and say that I am glad Beauty is back in the box, this long gap has me nervous! Get busy young lady! Russ Hi Russ-welcome aboard! Yes, we do follow Travelers here-if you hunt, you'll find the thread under other raptor cams. We were happy to see eggs and more reporting this year. Amelia was one of the hacked birds from the original peregrine recovery project, so holds a special place. Back to pushing with Beauty!
