The question is who then?

You'd think with all the nests we follow we would have heard of a peregrine getting a transmitter last year.  Odd.

Definitely, someone would know, nothing gets by us!

I wonder if it could be this bird...

It was seen near where Quest has been, which isn't really all that far from Rochester as the peregrine flies...

On two separate occasions today I saw a passage peregrine, tiercel I think, around the Monroe Avenue exit of 590.

Hmmm...I suppose it's possible-she did go from Cape Cod to NJ and back in a couple of days-but Quest was in Kingston ON 02/03 and back at Prince Edward Point on 02/06.  Any other transmitter peregrines out there?

I knew something was bugging me-a passage bird is a first year bird before it's first molt, so it would be a bird still in juvie plumage.  Assuming the person meant what it means, it's not one from Rochester-neither of ours got a transmitter last year.

I found this comment on the watchers blog from my 2-4-11 watch.

Another siting today! On two separate occasions today I saw a passage peregrine, tiercel I think, around the Monroe Avenue exit of 590. The first time, he was sitting on a lamp post overlooking the highway, and I distinctly saw an antenna wire sticking off of his back. The second time, he was flying low and slow, and came to a perch on another lamp post.

Not sure, but one of Rochester’s birds may be back early for the spring!

scared blue   Could it be Quest come home for a visit? It's getting crazy busy around here with all these falcons! foxbinocs

Do we have any idea where this is?  And how far from the airport?

No idea...this is the poster's description...

" 'Just listen to me!' said Sharp-Shinned Hawk to Great Horned Owl (was the title of this video until I was corrected by Matt the birder, Thanks Matt). It was filmed in the back alley behind our house. The birds were nesting and had two healthy chicks which they are now teaching to fly. They really hated the plastic owl and attacked it many times daily until the owl was removed."

"I’ve never been a fan of fake owls.  They rarely do the intended purpose of “scaring” birds away. Birds either figure out that they are fake or it can attract crows…or the occasionally very dense Cooper’s hawk..."

Cooper's Hawk attacks Owl.

!!! Both Adults in the area
February 13, 2011 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Linda Woods Reports:

A quick spot check on the 3 downtown nesting locations, had both adults on site.

Today, both adults were sitting on the east side of 120 Adelaide St, across the street from the Sheraton Centre Hotel.

I'm glad to see this...I haven't seen them on camera in quite a while...thanks!

Poor things! Didn't they get buried with snow last year too while on the eggs eagle2?

Yup-she laid her first egg in a snowstorm last year.  But they don't get buried nearly as bad as West Virginia and Blackwater.

Sure does look like it!

She may have laid a 3rd egg just before 6 last night.  Probably won't be able to see it today...the nest is covered in snow!

Poor Momma!

Uh, this would be the paradise in Nunda, NY about an hour south of Rochester. My sisters boy and his wife went on a cruise to the Bahamas and asked me to watch their 2 boys,2 dogs,3 cats,2 horses and 2 fish. I'm pondering changing the name after this week though. My great nephews have pushed me to the limit! lol  Grin

Ah so!  You visited there last year too, if I recall correctly.

Those young-uns sure can try the patience of a saint!
