Carol, that's pretty much how I've been thinking-4 main topics

-Rochester's role in the peregrine recovery effort
-Mariah & Cabot-Sirocco
-Mariah & Kaver
-Archer & Beauty

with chapters by year.  And since it's a living history, we'll add whatever happens at KP as it happens.

Yes, I have most of the names of grand & great-grand-eyases-and if not a name, at least the gender.  There's a LOT of birds!

I spotted this one browsing through some blog bookmarks.  This fellow, Bob Aek, is doing a Big Bird Year.  He blogged about finding these Pink footed geese in New Brunswick, Canada

His blog is interesting reading!

I ordered mine over 3 weeks ago and as of yesterday, they haven't even been shipped yet!

You might want to give them a call, Kris.  I ordered mine on 11/21 & it queued for shipping the next day.  Even with using snail-mail it arrived at the post office 12/01 (the PO doesn't stay open late enough for me to get there during the week).

To anyone who owns a Shakymon calendar, is it on glossy paper or standard paper stock?

Mine is at work, but I'm 99% sure it's the same stock as this year's calendar-I'd call it semi-gloss, but whatever the name, same stuff.

P.S.-my 2011 calendar arrived yesterday...outstanding job, as always!

I am quite blessed to share my yard with so many beautiful animals.  They seem to know it's safe.  I actually live on a main highway, but the way the house is situated it blocks the backyard from the road.  Even in the front/side yard they rarely go past the halfway point to the main road.  They will cross the small road directly in front, but they know to watch for cars.

Browsing pictures today I found this one of a young buck-you can just barely make out the knobs on his head.  He looks a bit scraggly, but he was actually fine-it was spring and he was shedding.  I saw him later in the summer & he had fattened up nicely.

Anyway, when I have stale bread I'll throw it in to the yard for the squirrels.  He found a slice and I caught him with it. He's not quite sure what to do with it, but he wouldn't drop it.

I can haz cheezburger has a subsidiary site called ugliest tattoos. This one's not exactly ugly.  But it's not exactly cute either.  It is somewhat on topic and probably of some interest to some members...so, without further ado...

I was browsing for some other things & ran across this pic I had saved from I don't remember where.  Not on cheezburger network, but cute none the less...

panda  He's still looking a little pink!  panda

I'm sure his current pinkness is from his fur not being very thick yet.  But an interesting factoid-the mother panda's saliva actually turns the white fur pink.  As he gets bigger you'll be able to see pink patches of fur where she picks him up and where she grooms him.

The deer were back today.  They stayed long enough to get enough pictures for a small album.  No need to sign in.
