Excellent!  Nice view from the new cam!  Does it zoom?  Just wondering since it has a good view of the OCSR I-beams.

This one in Orange, NSW  There's one eyas, name Solo.  It appears the cam isn't working on the web right now, but they're posting pics & videos on their blog.

Thanks for the warning...and for looking at the roof.

I know I'm anthropomorphizing, but I felt so bad every time it rained & it was dripping right on Beauty's head.

Do they waterproof the nests after their built? That nest does get quite wet Ei.

I don't think so. I would think most waterproofing chemicals wouldn't be good for the birds.  That's why I was thinking along the lines of something covered by plain molding.

Most of the rain getting in is just blown in from the front, which is normal.  I think it's more apparent with this nest box because the gravel is different & darker as well as the higher resolution camera.

It's just that one drip on the south side that aggravated me dripping right on Beauty's head. I KNOW they're actually water-resistant...most of the drips just beaded up & rolled off...but still...just a softie, I suppose  Wink

Been meaning to ask, but now I'm probably too late...

Can something be done about the dripping seam between the roof boards on the nest box?  Maybe a bead of caulking & a piece of half-round molding?

maybe a nest box is on order!  Cheesy

A nuclear powered nest box -- the world's first?

Hmmm...maybe it could generate enough of it's own power to beam a cam across the lake  nerd

Hi All!

We didn't want to keep you in suspense, so here is a celebration poem by MAK and a photo of Quest who hasn't been seen like this in over two years.

There once was a falcon born from the best,
Who wore a transmitter attached to a vest.

After a few weeks, they named her Quest;
She went to Cape Cod, then headed Northwest.

If you think I am kidding or acting in jest,
Just ask her followers, they'll tell you the rest.

Joyce and MAK

OMG!  I'm sitting here sobbing like a baby!  Don't know why...we've known where she was all along...but to finally see her after all this time...  crying  wub2   notworthy

Mak and I took advantage of the holiday weekend and took a leisurely drive up to Pickering to see if we could find Quest.

So Quest alluded us again from getting clear pictures of her.

Tomorrow is another day, and we will be up early hoping she will be there again with her mate.

It may not be a clear picture, but it's a picture!  An actual picture!   yahoo flowers  Thank you!

(movie) Falcon shadow?

I couldn't quite tell what kind of bird it was...it went in & out of the hole...another bird was already in there...I think a falcon took a swipe at it.  I'll have to review my tape.

Donna, TS box from BSA... it's in the back of the box on the wall...

I always think of the BSA as B&A... that Archer carved...lol

I think it was Jim P. that had all the details, but if I recall correctly the Boy Scouts built a bunch of boxes that were installed at KP & other places.  I think the weather got to most of them-since they weren't occupied, no one did any maintenance.  The Times Square box was one of those built by BSA, but was never installed anywhere-I don't remember if it was in storage or on display.  Then RFC needed it, so it was pressed into service.

There was one picture I caught earlier this year where a poop shot REALLY made it look like B&A carved on the wall!

We stayed until after dark without seeing Archer again. I am thankful to have seen our little guy tonight. They were very cute gazing into each others eyes way up there. Ah,sleep well everyone! heart heart heart heart
