It does have a web version. I just have to purchase the "premium" edition-not likely too expensive-too tired tonight. Looks like I have everyone I know of entered except the 2010 hatches, so no sense reinventing the wheel. The premium edition also allows for a static everyone on one page view that could be uploaded for a quick overview similar to what we have now.
I do have to enter some details like band info. I don't recall ever seeing band numbers for the Mariah & Cabot-Sirocco offspring. Let me know if they're available.

Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcons News / Re: Jemison Headed to Rehab

This is the reply I posted on the other threadI read the update on J. Will she be able to learn how to fend for herself without the help of her parents? How sad to know such a wonderful start came to such a unfavorable ending. I hope she can be free some day. She sure did get the hang of flying early and she was sooooo very good at it. It breaks my heart.
Sue-most of what Jemison needs to know to survive is actually instinct. When Jemison was first injured, Paul Hamilton posted a research article showing that injured/rehabbed/released juvies do just as well as their non-injured cohorts in the long term. I have faith Jemison will do just fine! And just to add to that-another point that Alison posted on the Imprints comments-when peregrine falcons were being reintroduced after they were almost extinct, the birds were hatched in captivity by falconers then released from hack boxes. None of those pioneer birds had parents to teach them anything, yet they survived and thrived and are the ancestors of the peregrines we worry so much about today. Jemison will be fine!

my stupid computer it only downloads like 30 seconds then stops No Fair. Well at least I got to see the still pictures of her. Is she bigger than her momma? I am planning on re-recording the part with the visit & uploading it to youtube-hopefully that will work for you. Might take a day or 2 to get it done... Callidora looks ginormous in person-and appears bigger than Beauty in my opinion. But looks can be deceiving-juvie wing & tail feathers are longer than adult feathers so they can look bigger but not actually be bigger.

thanks dumpsterkitty--just one more question will jem ever be able to hook up with another falcon (or falcons)??
Probably not right now, but that would be normal. Once the juvies leave the area they travel alone until they establish a territory. Once Jemison is old enough to mate there won't be any difference between him (yes, I'm in the "male" camp) and any other tiercel.

if A and B don't recognize Jem and may reject him, why wouldn't other falcons in other places do the same?
I can't speak for the professionals, but in other cases like Jemison's I have read about, they generally release the bird in an area that does not have a resident territorial pair. The released bird is then viewed as a migrant passing through to any peregrines it encounters along the way. Generally, birds passing through are watched but not challenged outside of breeding season.
